(KGTV) -- A suspect in the freeway shooting death of a San Diego man was arrested following a standoff at a San Diego hotel, California Highway Patrol officials announced Monday.Vincent Dulay Deguzman Jr. faces charges in connection with the June 7 death of 47-year-old San Diego resident Jessie Garcia Sr., CHP officials said.According to the CHP, on June 7, Deguzman and Garcia were in a Kia Altima on southbound Interstate 5 in Irvine when Deguzman, who was behind the wheel, allegedly shot Garcia and then abandoned the rental car south of Culver Drive, where it was found on the shoulder with the body next to the vehicle at around 7:33 a.m.On June 11, CHP investigators identified Deguzman as the suspect in the case and obtained a warrant for his arrest.Investigators collaborated with the San Diego Fugitive Task Force and tracked Deguzman to a Hilton Garden Inn in San Diego.CHP officials said, “Deguzman barricaded himself inside a hotel room and a stand-of ensued.”Deguzman eventually surrendered without incident and was taken into custody.Deguzman was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder and being held without bail.CHP officials did not release any information on a possible motive in the case. 1234

(KGTV) — A new challenger is approaching the video game market, and it's aiming to become the Netflix of video games.Google Tuesday introduced a new video game streaming service called Stadia. The platform promises to deliver gamers instant access to games on TV, mobile devices, or desktop computers in resolutions up to 4K and 60 frames per second."When players use Stadia, they'll be able to access their games at all times, and on virtually any screen," the company said in a release. "And developers will have access to nearly unlimited resources to create the games they’ve always dreamed of."RELATED: Video games are now a legitimate high school sportIn a contrast to many video game consoles and PCs, Google says Stadia won't require any downloads, updates, patches or installs for its content.Stadia also comes with its own controller, supported through WiFi. Much like current generation video game consoles, the controller will have buttons to capture gameplay happening on a user's screen instantly. However, Google has also inserted a Google Assistant button for its AI-powered virtual assistant. The controller also includes a built-in microphone.According to Engadget, the service will actually allow viewers watching a Stadia streaming to jump in line to join their game as part of a "Crowd Play" feature.Google released a trailer for the upcoming platform, touting it as a new place for gamers to play together:The service will launch later in 2019 in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and in several European countries. (CNN) -- President Trump is giving most federal workers the gift of an extra day off this holiday season.The president issued an executive order Tuesday ordering that all executive departments and federal agencies close on Tuesday, December 24 in honor of Christmas Eve.The holidays for federal employees include Christmas Day, but not Christmas Eve.Certain employees, or "emergency employees," will have to work that day "for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need."News of an extra day off comes after Congress recently approved 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all federal employees for the first time in American history. (KGTV) - California residents are feeling the crunch of rising home costs, so much so that many have considered moving out of the state, according to a poll from UC Berkeley.A new study from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies revealed about 48 percent of California voters described housing affordability as an "extremely serious" problem in their area, with 36 percent saying it's "somewhat serious."RELATED: San Diego's housing crisis prompts M trust fund for affordable housingPerhaps more alarming, the issue has caused about 56 percent of voters to consider moving from their area, a quarter of those respondents saying they would likely leave the state.
