A massive fire broke out in Queens, New York on Thursday morning — a blaze that has injured at least 12 people, including seven firefighters.NBC New York reports that 25 fire departments responded to the fire, which started in the Sunnyside neighborhood in Queens. Six businesses were damaged by the fire.None of the injuries are minor injuries and not expected to be life-threatening.One of the buildings affected by the fire experienced a collapse during the incident, according to fire officials. At least a dozen firefighters were in the building at the time of the collapse.It's not yet clear what started the fire.  634

A video taken at a gas station shows an Alabama woman fleeing after escaping captivity inside a vehicle's trunk.Police said the woman had been kidnapped and was able to get out when her captor stopped to fill up the tank. The suspect, Timothy Wyatt, had broken into her home Oct. 31 and abducted her.After the woman was able to get out of the vehicle, she ran inside for help. Wyatt can be seen running out of the station once he sees her enter.He has been arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping and domestic violence. 538

A Nashville doggie day care has filed a lawsuit for million against people who they said have destroyed their reputation. They said online posts in a popular neighborhood Facebook page just weren't true.The Dog Spot in East Nashville filed the lawsuit for libel, fraud and other charges against Jamie Bayer and Bari Rachel Miley Hardin for comments they made on the East Nashville Facebook page starting last month.According to the lawsuit, Bayer posted in part: "...how many dogs have died at The Dog Spot?"  Adding, "I found out two dogs died there. Since then I've heard up to four, and recently even seven."The lawsuit says, among other things, Hardin posted "Lots of dogs have been killed there" and "people can't talk when they've been paid off."The lawsuit from The Dog spot says "These are false statements.""It's not acceptable, its not freedom of speech. you cannot yell fire in a movie theater," said Chad Baker, one of the owners of The Dog Spot. "Just because it's Facebook, doesn't mean you can go on, and say things that are not true, and what's being said about us is not true."There has been at least one dog death at the day care. Rachael Waldrop's Chihuahua "Hall" died after an incident with a larger dog last year. A Montana health official said Monday the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 is concerning, and the numbers will get worse if people don’t take appropriate prevention measures to keep from contracting or spreading the virus.On the day Montana set a new single-day high with 56 new COVID-19 cases, Yellowstone County, which encompasses Billings and surrounding areas, added 14 cases. Many of the new positive cases are coming from family get-togethers, according to Yellowstone County Health Officer John Felton.“Many of these cases are related to gatherings, like barbecues and weddings where summertime fun is turning into infection and disease," said Felton.Felton says most of the people testing positive have shown symptoms and only three positives have come from a recent community testing event at MetraPark. He is encouraging everyone to continue to social distance and says masks do make a difference."Clearly when people are masked they reduce the chance of spread of disease. The main thing that (a) mask does: it prevents that masked person from expressing droplets that could be infected. If both people in a conversation are masked they are each protecting each other. It's not controversial in public health. I understand that there is some kind of political and social elements to that, but it's not a public health controversy whatsoever," said Felton.Felton says he believes the driving force behind the increase in cases is clearly that people are getting together more than they were before.As of Monday, Yellowstone County has reported 55 active cases of COVID-19 and 165 cumulative cases since the beginning of the outbreak.
