EL CAJON (CNS) - A man who was caught looting homes vacated during the West fire in Alpine in July was sentenced Friday to nearly five years in state prison.Ardian Iseni, 30, was convicted last month of residential burglary and attempted residential burglary.The 500-acre West fire -- which broke out July 6 -- destroyed 34 homes and 21 other buildings and damaged another 20 homes and buildings.RELATED: 412

(KGTV) -- Christian Unified Schools of San Diego welcomed junior and high school students back to campus on Tuesday.The El Cajon-based school district brought elementary school students back to school last week, and district officials said now it's time for the other grades to join.The school's website lists many of the precautions they're taking, including multiple temperature checks. Students will get their temperature checked before they are dropped off at school, and then again before entering the building.Everyone on campus must wear a mask or face shield, and students must wash or sanitize their hands before they enter each classroom.The district says social distancing will be observed in all classrooms. (KGTV) — Arson investigators say evidence of a THC butane oil extraction lab was found in the East County home where a massive fire broke out Wednesday.The fire started just before 3 p.m. at 1660 Via Elisa at the home's master bedroom and back deck area, according to the Sheriff's Department.While it appeared the fire was most likely accidental, investigators said evidence "consistent with a THC butane oil extraction lab" was discovered.
