SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego woman is taking legal action against a trendy hair product company, claiming it caused her severe hair loss and bald spots. She’s not alone. Women around the country are claiming similar effects. They blame their hair care nightmares on Monat Global, based in Florida.“It’s been so hard,” says San Diego’s Dana Sohovich. She held back tears as she spoke exclusively with 10News about her experience. Sohovich has filed a class action lawsuit against the company, alleging it falsely promised her “longer, fuller, stronger” hair. You can see how thin it is. It was never that thin,” she adds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An Escondido Union School District school is suspending on-campus operations for the rest of the month after three positive COVID-19 tests.Three people in the Pioneer School community tested positive for the virus in separate, unrelated instances off-campus. Due to this, and the high case rate in the surrounding area, the school district says it is temporarily suspending all on-campus activities at Pioneer School through Nov. 30.The suspension includes pausing the school's hybrid instruction model and extended care, and moving students to virtual learning. The school's distribution of free, to-go meals will continue."EUSD’s decision to suspend on-campus learning at Pioneer School was not directed by a public health department. County health officials have continued to express confidence in EUSD’s health and safety protocols. This decision was made to ensure the stability of the educational program offered to our students, as well as to continue our commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our students and employees," a district statement read.The school says the campus closure will affect 449 students. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A winter storm warning was issued for San Diego County’s mountains as a cold storm hit the region Monday..The warning is in place from 8 a.m. Monday through 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.“The agency says heavy snow and strong winds are expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Monday. Tree branches could fall as well,” forecasters said.Total snow accumulations of two to six inches are expected with localized amounts of 12 to 18 inches. The heaviest snow is expected to impact areas above 5,500 feet, however, some snow is expected down to 4,500 feet.Accompanying the snow are heavy winds of 20 to 40 miles per hour.RELATED: Check today's forecast in your area“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency,” the National Weather Service advised.A high surf advisory also takes the place of a beach hazards statement as the storm approaches. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A water main break Monday forced San Diego firefighters to evacuate Point Loma neighbors due to a potential hillside collapse.The break happened about 2:30 p.m. on Larga Circle near Leland St. The residential area is just west of the Vons shopping center on Midway Drive.According to SDFD, 10 homes were evacuated due to the break. The broken water main is on a slope between homes at the top and bottom of the slope. At least one home had flooding to the garage.City engineers are being called to the scene. 545
