Moon rocks don’t age, because there is no atmosphere in space to break down the rocks. The rocks found on the moon can potentially be billions of years old. “More recently we've actually learned in the past, less than a decade, that the Moon's rocks actually contain way more water than was originally realized,” the processor explains. Just like famous diamonds and jewels, there are well known space rocks, too. Like the one found by Apollo 15. “They named it the Genesis Rock, because it’s a part of the primordial crust of the moon,” she says.When studying these samples, scientists take all the precautions, from wearing bunny suits, temperature-controlled rooms and even triple bagging each rock for storing."We try really hard to preserve the rocks so that the science that we learn from the rocks can be trusted," Krysher says.It’s not every day we go to the Moon, so these scientists take time to study the rocks and do it sparingly. They are still breaking rocks over 40 years old. However, come five years from now, they’ll get another chance for more rocks when U.S. astronauts head to the moon in 2024. 1796

SAN QUENTIN, Calif. (AP) — Lonnie Franklin, the convicted serial killer known as the "Grim Sleeper" who preyed on the women of South Los Angeles for decades, has died in a California prison. He was 67. Corrections officials said Franklin was found unresponsive in his cell at San Quentin State Prison on Saturday evening. An autopsy will determine the cause of death; however, a corrections spokeswoman said there were no signs of trauma. Franklin had been on death row since August 2016 for the deaths of nine women and a teenage girl. Franklin was linked at trial to 14 slayings, including four women he wasn't charged with killing. TAMPA, Fla. — The City of Tampa has built a tent city that will house 100 homeless people during the safer-at-home order in Hillsborough County. The camp will be open on Monday.For the next 30 days, Tampa will pay Catholic Charities Diocese of St. Petersburg to run the temporary tent city, called Hillsborough Hope. Tampa officials did not provide the location of the tent city due to safety reasons.Along with the 100 tents, the site will include a mobile laundromat, mobile shower trailers and six portable toilet rentals. Those living in the camp will be fed three meals a day and will have access to on-site medical treatment.The Catholic Charities will also supply the residents with water bottles and hand sanitizer.Hillsborough Hope is open to any homeless person except for registered sex offenders.Anyone who shows up to the camp will be screened for COVID-19. If someone presents symptoms of the coronavirus, they will be referred to BayCare Health System.Each tent is spaced about 5 feet apart and will only house one person.Every person staying at the camp will be issued a wristband that corresponds to their tent number. Anyone accepted in the camp will have to adhere to the safer-at-home order put in place by the county. There will be a 5 p.m. curfew for the residents. 1300
