SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Three people have been arrested after a man was found dead in a drainage ditch near Fox Canyon in February. According to San Diego Police, Steven Chavez, 32, Peter Burgos, 45, and Jesus Faraj, 41, were all arrested from September 11 through the 17 on charges related to the murder. Police say Faraj was already in prison for an unrelated charges. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - There are jobs for college students. And then there's Woodstock's Pizza. Woodstock's is not an ordinary college job. "We look at all of our extended employees as part of the Woodstock's family," says Jeff Ambrose, CEO of Woodstock's Pizza. If Woodstock's is a family, then Jeff Ambrose is the Godfather. Ambrose began his career with Woodstock's right out of college back in the early 1980s. He's grown up with the restaurant since his college days at Oregon State doing everything from delivery to management. It was then Jeff learned about treating employees like family from original owner Chuck Woodstock decades ago in Corvallis, Oregon. "Chuck had this vision of having a Woodstock's Pizza in every college town west of the Mississippi," adds Ambrose. Not only that, Jeff was given the opportunity to own 25% of the restaurant. That opportunity for employees to own part of the franchise continues to this day with Jeff. "Because I think it's the right thing to do," Ambrose answers when asked why. In the mid-1980s Chuck Woodstock died in a plane crash. It was Jeff who took over the chain in California including two restaurants here in San Diego. And to this day, his managers have opportunities to buy stock in Woodstock's."That was a big part for me of saying we want to give back," says Ambrose. Employees are paid above minimum wage; those who work more than 30 hours a week are offered medical and dental benefits. Woodstock's was doing this long before the Affordable Care Act became law. "My thought is that we want to keep and retain the best people we can keep and retain," says Ambrose confidently. Yesenia Rios is a great example. "I personally need a job that can be flexible with me," says Rios. Yesenia is an engineering student at San Diego State. She started at Woodstock's a couple of years ago making pizzas. Now she's in administration working in the company's I.T. Department. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Three Southern Californians, one of which from San Diego, charged Facebook with being complacent in a data breach spanning about 87 million users.In a class action suit filed in San Diego, Jordan O'Hara, of San Diego, Brent Collins, of Newport Beach, Calif., and Olivia Johnston, of Culver City, Calif., the social media company worked with Cambridge Analytica, former White House strategist Steve Bannon, and Cambridge University researcher Aleksandr Kogan.In the lawsuit, the three say Facebook "conspired" to help Cambridge Analytica, Bannon, and Kogan steal personal data in order to manipulate public opinion and U.S. elections. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego County migrant shelter is stepping up protocols Friday after officials announced the number of cases of migrants with flu-like symptoms doubled in 24 hours.A plane full of migrants landed at Lindbergh Field Friday around 1:15 p.m. The concern Friday is the flight may have more sick migrants.Border Patrol officials stated migrants are given a health screening in Texas before they travel to San Diego, and are screened again once they land.County Health officials say when they screened 47 migrants at their downtown shelter, they found 13 migrants with flu-like symptoms. A total of 29 migrants have been diagnosed with the flu since May 19, officials say. There they get another health screening and starting Thursday, everyone gets a mask and Tamiflu pill as a precaution to keep the sickness from spreading.As of Friday, extra nurses are coming into the shelter to check on the group and ensure no one else has come down with the flu.Those who are diagnosed go with their families to a hotel that has individual air units, so they don't spread the virus. They are educated on why they should stay in the room and, if they leave, what precautions to take so they don't infect others.Migrants in the shelter can come and go as they wish.Border Patrol stated migrants who exhibit flu-like symptoms are not allowed to fly and instead are given medical treatment in Texas. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego International Auto Show announced Wednesday that its 2020 lineup was cancelled.The show was set to take place from December 31 through January 3.“After careful and extensive consideration of the health risks and other factors resulting from COVID-19, the New Car Dealers Association San Diego County will be unable to hold and unfortunately must cancel the San Diego International Auto Show,” the New Car Dealers Association of San Diego County said.The next event is scheduled to take place from December 30, 2021 through January 2, 2022.“As much as we wanted to move forward with the show for all of those who eagerly anticipate it each year, the outbreak of COVID-19 and the pandemic has resulted in a situation where we are unable to hold the show.
