WASHINGTON (AP) — An official at the Department of Homeland Security says he was pressured by agency leaders to make his intelligence reports reflect the priorities of the Trump administration. Brian Murphy also says in a whistleblower complaint that he was demoted from his position as the Office of Intelligence and Analysis in retaliation for refusing to alter his reports on such matters as Russian interference in the election and the extent of the threat posed by white supremacists.A copy of the complaint was released Wednesday by Rep. (KGTV) - The mother of a 14-year-old girl sexually assaulted by a San Diego Deputy filed a civil lawsuit citing negligence and invasion of privacy.Deputy Timothy Wilson pleaded guilty to lewd acts on a minor and two counts of unlawfully taking computer data. He’s serving jail time. The victim’s mother, Jennifer Tanis, says Wilson accessed her daughter’s police file 44 times. He was able to get her home address, videos, and pictures of her daughter. She tells 10News she’s suing the county, not for money, but change. Currently, all deputies are allowed to access police files, but she thinks the only person who should have access to them is the lead investigator.She says the county failed her.“There was no system in place to protect my daughter, her story or the pictures they took of her during the investigation," Tanis said.Tanis is pushing for change not only in the county but the entire country. She reached out to Congressman Mike Levin’s office for help. San Diego County has said they have the capability of making police reports private, but only in some cases. Deputy Wilson’s case wasn’t reportedly one of them. 1152

VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) --  A California Highway patrol car assisting with construction was hit by a tire just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. The incident, caused when a Chevy Silverado lost a spare tire, happened on the westbound 78 near the Sycamore Avenue, according to CHP. Several people swerved to avoid the tire as it entered the highway, causing at least three crashes. Lanes were closed for a little more than one hour. No CHP officers were injured, but the patrol car was towed from the scene. At this time it's unclear if the driver of the Silverado knew that the tire was lost.  637

VISTA, CA (KGTV) — The man accused of intentionally driving a U-Haul van into a crowd of people outside of an Encinitas bar, pleaded not guilty to serious charges in a Vista courtroom Wednesday.Christian Davis, 28, stood next to an attorney with his head down as he was formally charged with two counts of attempted premeditated murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of felony driving under the influence of alcohol.Deputy District Attorney, Kim Coulter, said the incident early Sunday morning started at the Saloon and Shelter bar when Davis was kicked out.RELATED: Video shows driver slamming into crowd outside Encinitas bar"He was asked to leave because he was highly intoxicated and it was time for him to go," said Coulter.Once he was kicked out, Coulter said he got into a verbal argument with two bouncers, then threatened them."It escalated and culminated with Davis telling the security guards 'you're going to regret doing this, I’m going to come back and I’m going to kill you,'" she said.Moments later, witnesses saw the U-Haul heading for a crowd of people standing outside of the bars.RELATED: Man arrested after driving into crowd outside Encinitas barThe incident was captured on a passerby's dash cam video."He reversed out of a 7-Eleven and he came barreling down a sidewalk in front of Shelter bar, right into a crowd of people," said Coulter. Sadly, two men who were outside of the bar at the wrong time were seriously hurt."A 25-year-old victim has had a severe injury to his leg, he’s had his third surgery today," said Coulter.The other victim, a 24-year-old, was also left hospitalized with severe injuries."He has two collapsed lungs, fractured ribs, a broken arm and he did spend time in the ICU," she said.Bail was set at million. If Davis is released on bail, he will wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet.He is due in court for a preliminary hearing on March 17. 2095
