Last fall, Amazon launched a new service called Amazon Key, which allows customers to receive deliveries inside their home. Amazon is now taking that one step further and delivering packages inside your car.Alyssa Bronikowski with Amazon says, “What’s convenient about it is that you can now receive deliveries wherever you are.”Amazon says it’s simple to use. You need to download the Amazon Key app, and link your car before you begin shopping.There is one catch: You will need a 2015 or newer GM or Volvo vehicle with active OnStar or Volvo On Call account.These vehicles allow you to unlock your car wherever you are right before the driver arrives and lock it directly after the package is delivered.With the first version of Amazon Key, Amazon tried to eliminate porch poaching. But, this has many people wondering if the new version will cause more vehicle break-ins. Amazon said they will place all packages in the trunk of the car or hide it under a seat.If your package does get stolen, the same rules apply as getting your delivery poached off your porch.If you feel like Amazon has way too much access into our lives; Amazon says, if customers want convenience, this is what convenience looks like. 1238

LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A peace officer claims he was profiled by Walmart employees Wednesday.Johnny Aguirre says he and his wife went to the Walmart in La Mesa and he was carrying a backpack that he usually carries with him. There are items he carries in his backpack that are related to his job as a peace officer. “We walked in, and I got stopped by two greeters, they told me to put the backpack away int he lockers,” he said.Aguirre says the lockers were empty, so it was standard for all customers. He also says he noticed other people were walking around the store with backpacks.He believes employees singled him out because of the way he looked.“I got that feeling that I was profiled and racially discriminated because of the way I was dressed maybe,” he said. He says he was working all day and he was a little dirty.Walmart sent the following statement to 10News: “We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. As a company, we’ve taken several steps to help mitigate the issue of crime and the locker system implemented in our Las Mesa store is just one example of our proactive approach. We take our customer’s claim seriously and will continue to look into this. ”“I got the feeling I was selected, I was profiled, so if this a new policy, they need to train their people better,” Aguirre said. 1322

LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- While many drivers say a new Caltrans project in the East County is making SR-67 safer, some say it's literally making them sick to their stomach.Long considered one of the most dangerous roads in San Diego County, Caltrans is currently working on a million project to improve safety between Lakeside and Ramona.  A key part of the project is the installation of flexible posts called "channelizers" in the median.  Channelizers are bright yellow so they can be easily seen, helping prevent cars from drifting across the center into oncoming traffic."I think it'll save lives. I really do," Andy Jones tells 10News. Jones regularly drives the 67 for work.However, since the channelizers began being installed over the last few weeks, there have been a handful of reports of drivers becoming queasy.  One man told 10News the way the light reflects off the channelizers at night makes him feel nauseated.  The Ramona Sentinel reports that two people have called the Ramona Planning Board with similar complaints.Driver Donna Gines says the channelizers make her feel safer on her regular drives from Rancho Bernardo to Barona, but she can understand whey they could make some people feel ill."Some people don't react well to reflectors," she said. "It's kind of like a strobe light, maybe? And maybe it does make them dizzy."Caltrans tells 10News they have not received any direct complaints. However, after 10News raised the concern, Caltrans decided to do a review of how the channelizers are functioning.  They plan to send crews at different times of day to see if any changes need to be made. 1663

LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A speeding U-Haul truck turned a neighborhood near La Mesa into a dumping ground Saturday afternoon. Along Tropico Drive, the sound of a speeding vehicle - and then a loud thud - startled Steve Haase in his driveway.  In the middle of the road was a couch, carpet padding, tile and a painting.    Haase lives on a cul-de-sac, so he knew the vehicle would have to come back around.  Haase walked into the road, and saw a mid-sized U-Haul truck.  He saw two men in their early 20s inside, laughing."They're coming down the street and I put my hand up.  They stop, but they get close, so I get out of the way. I then asked him if he was going to pick it up.  They said, 'Of course,' and then took off with big speed," said Haase.  810

LA MESA, Calif. (AP) — A man who police say brandished a gun from a van and a woman who then crashed the car with five children inside, injuring them, have been arrested. A person on Friday night reported that a man in La Mesa had a gun inside a moving vehicle. Police say an officer later tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over. Shortly thereafter, the car crashed. The officer pursuing the suspect found five children inside without car seats. Police say the children suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for further tests. 573
