Queensland, Australia is experiencing wild summer weather right now, which created a giant sea foam wall on the country’s east coast. The foam was so large, a dog became lost in it and several people had to jump in to find the animal.A weatherman for 7News in Australia was on the beach ready to do a live report on the wild weather, when a woman is seen on camera jumping into the foam shouting “Hazel!”Weatherman Paul Burt dropped his microphone and is seen walking over to the woman and joining the search for her pet, Hazel. The search was successful and Hazel was soon back in the arms of her owner. The eastern coast of Australia is being battered right now as a powerful storm moves through the area. Some areas of Queensland saw about 7 inches of rain on Sunday, and wind gusts around 60 mph. 806

President Donald Trump's legal team is preparing to respond to special counsel Robert Mueller regarding the possibility of an interview, Rudy Giuliani told CNN Monday.Giuliani, one of Trump's lawyers, would not characterize the response. He's recently suggested that Trump and his lawyers would be making a final decision soon, but other sources have said the coming response would likely be another effort to counter the latest from Mueller and not a final offer.CNN reported last week that Mueller has offered to reduce the number of obstruction-related questions Trump would be asked by investigators. The President's lawyers had previously offered the special counsel written answers to obstruction questions and limiting the interview to matters before his presidential inauguration, which are largely confined to collusion. The special counsel indicated an interview with the President would include obstruction questions, but did cede that some answers on topics could be in writing. Trump's lawyers -- who are not in favor of any interview despite the President saying he wants to set the record straight with special counsel -- are seeking to limit the interview to collusion topics.The-CNN-Wire 1211

President Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday that he will continue to follow the advice of his lawyers and cooperate with special prosecutor Robert Mueller."I have agreed with the historically cooperative, disciplined approach that we have engaged in with Robert Mueller (Unlike the Clintons!). I have full confidence in Ty Cobb, my Special Counsel, and have been fully advised throughout each phase of this process," Trump tweeted.Recent reports indicated that Trump has been especially irate with an FBI raid of his personal lawyer's office, the findings which could eventually be turned over to Mueller for his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Some outlets report that Trump is considering firing deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller as special counsel last year. The Washington Post also reports that Trump's former advisor, Steven Bannon was urging aides on a plan to fire Rosenstein and stop cooperating with Mueller.Trump is reported to have considered firing Mueller in December 2017 and in June 2017, according to the New York Times.  1128

Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, announced he is launching an investigation surrounding Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s speech at the Republican National Convention. Pompeo’s speech is set to be broadcast during Tuesday’s portion of the RNC.Castro wants to probe whether the speech violates both the Hatch Act and State Department rules. The Hatch Act is intended to limit political activities by executive branch employees other than the president and vice president. While violating the Hatch Act is not criminal, there are potential civil fines for violations. The act also calls for violators of the act to be reprimanded or terminated from their positions if found in violation. But in the past, the Trump administration has not acted on violations of the Hatch Act. Most notably, the Office of the Special Counsel recommended that Trump aide Kellyanne Conway be removed from her White House post after allegedly violating the act multiple times. Pompeo is delivering his remarks during an official trip to Israel.“The Trump administration and Secretary Pompeo have shown a gross disregard not only of basic ethics, but also a blatant willingness to violate federal law for political gain. Congress has a responsibility to stand up for the rule of law and hold them accountable for this corrupt behavior,” said Castro. “It’s absolutely unacceptable that a sitting U.S. Secretary of State, America’s top diplomat, would use official taxpayer-funded business to participate in a political party convention, particularly after the State Department published guidance that explicitly prohibits such activity.”Sources told CNN that White House, State Department, RNC and Pompeo’s personal lawyers all signed off on the speech. CNN also reported that the State Department claimed that no taxpayer funds were used by Pompeo to deliver the speech. While there are concerns that having Trump administration officials participate in political activities is toeing what’s legal under federal law, it is certainly unprecedented. There has not been an active secretary of state in recent times who has held a speaking role at a political convention.ABC News reported that then Secretary of State Colin Powell would not participate in the 2004 Republican National Convention due to ethics concerns.“As secretary of state, I am obliged not to participate in any way, shape, fashion, or form in parochial, political debates. I have to take no sides in the matter," Powell said, according to ABC News. 2492

President Donald Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday as part of a Veterans Day ceremony.Trump laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in an act that has become a Veterans Day and Memorial Day tradition for presidents in the years since the remains of several unidentified U.S. soldiers who fought in World War I were interred at the cemetery in 1921.In the years since, remains of other unidentified soldiers from World War II and the Korean War have since been interred in the area. The remains of a U.S. soldier who fought in the Vietnam War were briefly interred in the tomb before scientists identified them as those of Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Joseph Blassie. Blassie's remains were removed from the tomb in 1998 upon his family's request. The Tomb has come to represent all U.S. soldiers who have been killed or remain missing in action. The wreath-laying ceremony was Trump's first on-camera public appearance since most media outlets projected Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election.Prior to Wednesday, Trump's last on-camera public appearance came on Nov. 5 when he held a press conference at the White House to falsely claim victory in the 2020 presidential race citing baseless claims of widespread voter fraud. 1277
