When Corey Forrester's sister told him about a venue in Georgia that refused to accommodate same-sex weddings, he decided to give couples another option if they need it.The Georgia native took to Twitter to offer his own yard in Chickamauga, Georgia, adding he could even officiate the ceremony."Just throwing it out there but if you live near me and are affected by this you can get Gay married in my yard free of charge and also I'm ordained so there," wrote Forrester, a comedian known for his YouTube videos as the "Liberal Redneck."The venue that does not want to accommodate same-sex nuptials is near Lookout Mountain, Georgia, but Forrester said he did not name it because he didn't want people to attack it."I didn't want people trying to s*** all over an establishment, as wrong and backwards as I think it may be," Forrester told CNN."I guess what I ultimately hope is that people will see the love and see how well it was received and make them think, 'Maybe I'm not doing the right thing harboring hate in my heart here.'"Though Forrester is "very serious" about letting same-sex couples use his yard, he hasn't gotten any bookings yet. Local Presbyterian and Methodist pastors have contacted him to say they would be happy to officiate same-sex ceremonies, Forrester said.Dispelling stereotypes about the SouthForrester said he hopes to dispel stereotypes about attitudes in Georgia and the South. The comedian, who travels frequently for work, said anti-LGBTQ attitudes are still everywhere, not just in the South."I get it -- I understand the stereotype ... I think (anti-LGBTQ attitudes) are more tied to religion. The Bible Belt is a thing, and that is directly in our culture," Forrester said. "But it's frustrating to me because I'm from the South."Although President Donald Trump won Georgia, "it doesn't mean that everybody there's terrible," Forrester said.He pointed to people like Jimmy Carter, Martin Luther King Jr. and hip-hop duo OutKast, who all hail from Georgia."When people generalize, I don't think they realize the people they are completely discounting." 2100

University of Wisconsin assistant men's basketball coach Howard Moore lost his wife and young daughter in a fatal car accident near Ann Arbor, Michigan early Saturday morning.Moore, his wife and his two children were hit head-on by a female driver going the wrong way, Michigan State Police said. That driver, along with Moore's 9-year-old daughter Jaidyn and his wife, Jennifer, died as a result of the crash, police said.Moore, 46, and his 13-year-old son Jerell are being treated at the University of Michigan Hospital. "Our hearts are with Howard and Jerell and we, as a community, will support and lift up the entire Moore and Barnes families."Head coach Greg Gard said the university is "devastated.""Howard is so much more than a colleague and coach," Gard said in a statement. "He and Jen and their children are dear friends to everyone they meet. Their positivity and energy lift up those around them.""We will miss Jen and Jaidyn dearly and we will put our arms around Howard and Jerell and the entire family, giving them love and support during this unspeakable time."Moore, who graduated from the university, returned to assist in coaching after spending five seasons as head coach at the University of Illinois at Chicago."He has always been an incredible representative of our athletic department and a positive influence on everyone around him," director of athletics Barry Alvarez said in a university statement. Two Chicago police officers were killed Monday after being struck by a metro train, authorities said.Conrad Gary and Eduardo Marmolejo were responding to a shots fired call on the city's South Side when a passing train hit them, Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told reporters. The officers were searching an area near train tracks at 103rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue when they were struck, Johnson said. The train had been traveling at 60 mph to 70 mph, he said."While doing the most dangerous thing any police officer can do, and that is to chase an individual with a gun, these brave young men were consumed with identifying a potential threat to their community and put the safety of others above their own," Johnson said.A suspect was ultimately taken into custody and a gun was recovered, Johnson said.Gary, 31, had been on the force 18 months. Marmolejo, 37, joined the department 2 1/2 years ago, Johnson said. The men, both fathers, lost their lives just a week before Christmas."This holiday will never be the same for those two families," Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said. "And while our hearts are with them, we lost people who answered the call to make Chicago a better place. We go about our lives not thinking twice and we can do that because of the men and women in the Chicago police department."Johnson asked Chicago to pray for the families of the officers, and for the men and women of the officers' 5th district, "who, even tonight, would stop at nothing to safeguard their community," he said."This has been an immensely difficult year for the Chicago police department," Johnson said, "And especially for the men and women of the 5th district where they have faced tragedy after tragedy this year." 1746

What started as a celebratory evening on her wedding anniversary ended as one of the worst days of Sunnie Howell's life.Howell kept pot-bellied pigs, three of them, as emotional support animals for people in her Kentucky community. They regularly visited individuals in hospitals and nursing homes. When she went to give them some leftovers after dinner on June 6th, she discovered two of them were dead -- most likely beaten, 438
