A small plane carrying three people crashed into a house in upstate New York, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said.The condition of those on board the Saturday flight is unknown.The Cessna 303 aircraft was headed to Sky Acres Airport in LaGrangeville, New York, when it crashed into a house in Union Vale, New York, a few miles southeast of the airport.The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.New York State Police spokesman Steven Nevel confirmed the crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, but could not immediately provide more information. 617
A new federal lawsuit says Mississippi's Parchman prison is a violent place where inmates live in “abhorrent conditions” and their medical needs are ignored. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday on behalf of more than 150 prisoners. It is similar to one filed in January, and the two lawsuits could eventually be merged. Attorneys in both lawsuits are being paid by entertainment mogul Jay-Z, rapper Yo Gotti and Team Roc, the philanthropic arm of Jay-Z's Roc Nation. A physical struggle between a woman and a group of squeegee kids ended with a gunshot.It happened just after 2 p.m. Wednesday in Baltimore.A woman called police and reported her gun went off after a group of squeegee kids surrounded and began reaching into her car while stopped at a light.The woman told police the group first sprayed her windshield. According to a police report, the group allegedly became very aggressive, and began demanding money, and damaging the car with the squeegee.The victim told officers the group refused to move, and there was no way to drive off without running them over.Out of fear, the woman told police she reached into her purse and grabbed a registered handgun, while still asking them to leave.One of the suspects then reportedly reached into the car and grabbed the woman's wrist, she was holding the gun with.After a struggle, the gun fired into the passenger seat of the victim's vehicle, causing the group to flee.Police say they were unable to find anyone in the group.In their report, the officer wrote the victim had all proper permits to carry the gun.The incident is the latest of many involving squeegee kids in Baltimore.This article was written by Brian Kuebler and Ryan Dickstein for WMAR. 1254
