IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - Early Sunday morning, 63,000 gallons of sewage spilled into Tijuana River. A representative with U.S. Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission tells 10News the spill came from the potable water Planetary Aquaduct around 4:30 am. They say Pump Station CILA was unable to divert water from this event and a trans-boundary flow of approximately 63,000 gallons occurred at around 4:30 am. The transboundary flow contained treated and untreated wastewater in addition to storm water runoff and groundwater that has made its way to the Tijuana River. Pump Station continues to operate and no transboundary flows are currently present. 686

In a recent tweet, Elon Musk said his Hyperloop tunnel for rapid transportation is nearly complete.The high-speed tunnel he is building is expected to open Dec.10, according to Musk's Twitter page. "They don't make insulin. They get very skinny and we have to give them insulin. There really isn't a lot of other treatments for these Type 1 diabetics.”A shortage of insulin in drug form poses major challenges. "So those with Type 2 diabetes, many of them can take pills, but if they are in poor control we have to give them insulin," Wachs said.Wachs said insulin is expensive to make. She says only three major pharmaceutical companies make it. And the demand isn't the highest here in the United States but other parts of the world, including Africa and Asia.
