BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Tuesday urged Israel and Palestine to stay on the path of peace talks and take constructive moves to advance their stalled peace talks.Wen made the appeal in a message to the Conference in Commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which was held Monday at the United Nations headquarters in New York.Offering warm congratulations for the event on behalf of the Chinese government, Wen stressed that the Palestinian issue is at the core of the Middle East issue.The Chinese government has all along firmly supported the Palestinian people's just cause of restoring their legitimate national rights, and the efforts to continuously push the Middle East peace process forward, Wen said.The talks between Israel and Palestine have now reached a pivotal stage, he said, voicing the hope that both sides will stay on the track,take positive and constructive efforts, avoid any disturbance of the talks, cooperate with international mediation efforts, and constantly promote the negotiation process.He expressed the hope that on the basis of related UN resolutions and the "land-for-peace" principle, an independent Palestinian State with full sovereignty will be established and the peaceful coexistence of Israel and the Palestinian State will be achieved.An early settlement of the Palestinian issue is the expectation shared by all Middle East countries and peoples and the international community, Wen said.As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China will as always support the United Nations in playing a vital role on the Middle East issue, he said.He added that China, along with the international community, will continue to make unremitting efforts to seek a just solution to the Palestinian issue and promote peace, stability and development in the Middle East.The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in 1977 designating Nov. 29 as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- China's official Xinhua News Agency on Saturday formally launched its financial information exchange, an information sharing platform in the financial and cultural sectors to promote development of the nation's capital market.Approved by the People's Bank of China, or the central bank, it is the world's first financial information exchange.It is funded by and registered with the China Finance Corporation (CFC), owned by Xinhua.Located in the Lize business district in the southwest of downtown Beijing, the exchange has the world's largest LCD panel groups at 7,593 inches, which show real-time information in the finance and cultural industries.Member users can also get the latest information on technology transfers and business consultations.The exchange would improve Xinhua's presence and influence in the global financial information sector and enhance China's soft power in the international capital markets, said Xinhua president Li Congjun at the inauguration ceremony."It aims to be a fair, just, professional and highly efficient intermediary service platform in the financial information and cultural sectors to promote information sharing among the cultural sector, industries and the capital markets," he said."The ultimate goal is to become the world's most influential financial information and cultural industry service center."

BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has urged more efforts be made to accelerate economic restructuring to achieve sustainable development amid concerns of global uncertainties."The global economy is still facing great uncertainties and has not shaken off the deep impact of the financial crisis", Li wrote in an article Xinhua received Sunday, calling for "deep understanding" of the proposal for national development in the next five years.The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's Proposal on Formulating the 12th Five-year Program (2011-2015) on National Economic and Social Development was issued on Oct. 27 after it was adopted at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee, which ended Oct. 18.The imbalance of the overall world economic recovery remains and trade protectionism is on the rise, Li wrote in the article while calling for correct understanding of both domestic and international situation.Further, Li warned of the potential damage that will be caused by some governments' excessive debt, noting that some major economies continue their expansionary monetary policies and are pumping enormous liquidity into markets to boost their economic recovery, which may spur turbulence in the global financial market and push up commodity prices.Additionally, the inflow of hot money will affect emerging economies, he said."The world economy is growing slowly and the structure of global demand is changing, which puts new pressure on China in its efforts to stabilize and expand exports and maintain a stable and relatively rapid economic growth," Li wrote.The next five years will be crucial for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, he said."The transformation of the economic development mode brooks no delay, and the key for the transformation is to achieve it at an accelerated speed and with practical effects," he said.Only by transforming the development mode can problems of imbalance and unsustainability be resolved, Li said.The government will work to boost domestic demand, consumption in particular, as a long-term strategy to maintain healthy and stable economic development and transform the economic development pattern, he wrote.It is imperative to keep investment at an "appropriate growth rate" and encourage private investment to expand domestic demand, he said.Efforts should also be made to promote balanced urban-rural development and scientific innovation to upgrade industries.Li said China will also move ahead with "vigorous but steady" political reform while pushing forward economic restructuring.The government will reduce its intervention in economy and let market play the role in resource distribution, Li wrote. BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua)-- China will issue new judicial rules governing sentencing standards for cyber attack crimes by the end of this year, an official of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) told Xinhua Wednesday.China has become a major victim of online crimes such as hacker attacks, with eight out of every ten computers in the country having suffered botnet attacks, said Gu Jian, vice director of the Internet security bureau of the MPS.Botnet is a network of computers that have had malicious software installed in them and are under the control of criminals, while the owners of the computers remain unaware of the computer hacking.China criminalized attacks on computer systems in 1997, and made specific provisions on hacker attacks, such as outlawing the illegal control of another computer, in its seventh amendment to the Criminal Law in 2009.In most botnet cases in China, the controllers were found to be located abroad, Gu said.Moreover, more than 80 percent of the cyber attacks targeting websites of China's government agencies came from overseas, Gu said.Gu called for more international cooperation in fighting transnational online crimes at the fourth U.S.-China Internet Industry Forum which concluded Tuesday in Beijing.At the forum, China and the U.S. agreed to strengthen international law enforcement in combating cyber crimes, improve international cooperation mechanisms in this regard, and enhance communication on fighting cyber crimes.In addition to cyber attacks, other kinds of major online crimes included online pornography, online gambling and online fraud, Gu added.
