Adidas has voluntarily recalled kids’ swimwear products of the Infinitex 3-Stripe range due to the stripes coming off and them possibly leading to injuries.According to the company, they have received customer reports that the three stripes on the swimwear might come off unexpectedly when in contact with water, which pose a potential safety risk to children as the stripes might get caught on objects or other children outside or inside the water and become entangled, potentially leading to injuries. No injuries have been reported to date. The swimwear, worn by children up to and including the age of 14, were sold as part of the 2017 and 2018 collections in both, youth and adult sizes through adidas.com, Adidas retail stores and at authorized Adidas dealers globally. The affected swimwear products come in several color combinations, has the Adidas 3-stripes trademark grafted on both sides of the swimwear and has the words 'made in Tunisia' on the label. After a five-year battle, the father of Las Vegas quintuplets is acquitted of rental fraud charges.The Derricos became instant celebrities in 2013 when they became a family of eleven. The family was featured on both local and national television shows."That's when all hell broke loose," said dad Deon Derrico.Derrico was facing multiple charges, including felonies. Prosecutors alleged the father forged quitclaim deeds to force a change of ownership and collect rent."Nothing seemed to change their minds once they decided I was guilty," said Derrico.Derrico said he cooperated with the investigation all along because he was innocent."The homeowner I bought this from came back later," he said, "...and alleged that I hadn't because they wanted more money."Jurors reached their verdict after a trial that lasted a week. They acquitted Derrico of all but two counts related to notarization of a signature. Prosecutors say they'll reexamine the merits of the case at the next hearing.The family said the case has forever changed their lives.Mom Karen Derrico was pregnant with triplets last year. She says she believes she lost one because of the stress of the upcoming trial."We believe that everything, it happens for a reason," she said. "This was our test for our testimony." 1318

But the youngest member of the House of Representatives says she's having a hard time finding affordable housing on a working-class salary. Members of Congress have to live in their home state and Washington, D.C., where homes are small and expensive. Rent ranges from ,500 to ,800 a month.For New York's Ocasio-Cortez, that means paying rent in two of the most expensive cities in the country.“To live in two major cities at 29 years old, it's not easy for anybody to do until she gets that income that she's waiting for once her job starts,” Steve Gaich, a relator in D.C., says.After winning her election, Ocasio-Cortez told the New York Times, "I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real."Other members of Congress have admitted to sleeping on cots and couches in their congressional offices, while some share apartments and homes.“I think the sticker shock does take people back sometimes, and they don't realize I’m paying 0 a month for a full house in Kansas or in Iowa, and 0 might get you a shared room in a house in D.C.,” Gaich says.Members of the House make 4,000, and Ocasio-Cortez admits she'll be fine once she starts receiving a paycheck. After a dramatic lead-up, the House of Representatives failed to pass a massive farm bill as Republicans were unable to shore up support from some of their conservative members amid an ongoing party fight on immigration, despite Republican leaders' confident predictions it would pass just minutes before.The vote was 198-213.While Republican leaders said they were confident ahead of the vote, it was clear the bill was in jeopardy, and members of leadership could be seen on the floor holding last-minute negotiations.Complicating matters was a threat by conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus to withhold their support as they sought to get their desired outcome on an unrelated issue involving immigration. Close to 30 Republicans voted against the bill.Democrats, meanwhile, rejected the farm bill out of opposition to stricter work requirements in the food stamps program, formally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.The deadline to pass a farm bill is September 30.Republicans want to require more people to work in order to receive the benefits, extending the mandate to parents of school-age children and to those in their 50s.That's the main reason why Democrats are rejecting the bill. They worry the new requirements will prove too onerous for some of the very beneficiaries in need of the assistance. Those who fail to work or enroll in job training could be locked out for up to three years.President Donald Trump voiced support for the bill Thursday in a tweet."Tomorrow, the House will vote on a strong Farm Bill, which includes work requirements. "That is why the farm bill that we are debating today is so critical. It sets up a system for SNAP recipients where if you are able to work, you should work to get the benefits. A Masai giraffe calf died on Tuesday at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio shortly after its mother, Cami, was given an emergency Cesarean section in an effort to save both the mother and calf. According to the Columbus Zoo, veterinarians and zoo staff recognized that Cami was going into labor Tuesday afternoon, but that the giraffe calf was presenting rear hooves first. The zoo said that it is rare for calves to survive when born rear hooves first.That is when a decision was made for veterinarians to enter Cami's stall. It also meant that a webcam of the birth broadcasted by National Geographic was shut off. Veterinarians from the zoo and Ohio State University first attempted to remove the calf manually. When that did not work, they performed the emergency Cesarean section.Unfortunately, their efforts were futile. "Cesarean sections in giraffes are extremely rare and typically conducted as a last resort due to the high risks involved in putting giraffes under anesthesia and successful recovery," the zoo said in a statement. "After the calf was extracted via Cesarean section, the veterinary team found that the calf had serious congenital defects and thus would not have survived even if it had been born front hooves first."The zoo said Cami’s condition was stable, but her prognosis remains guarded as of late Tuesday evening. Zoo staff will continue to monitor her condition. Tuesday's failed birth marks the second giraffe calf the zoo has lost in recent weeks. On November 17, Ubumwe, an 18-day-old calf died at the zoo. The cause of Ubumwe's death remains unknown, and a full pathology report is being conducted to determine the cause of death. According to information from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, giraffe calves have a 25 percent mortality rate. This is compared to roughly a 50-percent mortality rate for giraffe calves born in the wild, according to the association.  2007
