PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Police in California have launched an investigation after authorities received calls of six people showing signs of drug overdoses during a six-hour period in the same city. The Pasadena Star-News reported Pasadena officials say two patients died, three recovered and one remained in a hospital receiving treatment. Authorities could not say conclusively whether the two men who died succumbed to drug overdoses until they receive a coroner’s autopsy findings. Police say they believe the cases may involve fentanyl. Pasadena police spokesman Lt. Bill Grisafe calls the suspected overdose surge an anomaly not previously seen in Pasadena. 670

Police searched early Thursday for a man who robbed a Nashville area pizza chain at gunpoint.Metro Nashville Police officers were called to the Domino's Pizza on Hamilton Crossing in Antioch at about midnight Thursday.  Two employees told officers they heard the drive-thru bell go off, and saw a Toyota Camry parked a short distance from the window. When one of the employees approached the window, he told officers a man who had been crouching below the window jumped up and pointed a handgun at the worker.Police said the suspect then crawled through the drive-thru window and demanded the workers empty the cash register. He took the cash and left the Domino's through the drive-thru window. The victims told police they saw the suspect get into the white Toyota Camry they saw parked away from the window. Neither Domino's worker was hurt in the robbery. Investigators don't have much in the way of a description of the suspect, as the victims told them he had his face covered with a black and white bandana. Officers at the scene told us there is surveillance video that they are reviewing. Pandemonium erupted Sunday night in Atlanta at a Lil Wayne concert that ended with at least a dozen people receiving minor injuries, police said.People tried to flee after somebody in the crowd reportedly yelled that gunshots had been fired, Atlanta Police Public Affairs Officer Jarius Daugherty told CNN.Some concertgoers reported they hurt their ankles and were cut trying to jump fences.Video from the event posted on social media showed concert goers fleeing in a panic.Police responded and cleared out the Georgia Freight Depot in the Old Fourth Ward area.Daugherty told CNN police have found no evidence of gunshots.Lil Wayne, one of hip hop's biggest stars, was only a few songs into his set. 708

PALA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A 5-year-old boy critically injured in Saturday’s deadly bus crash was airlifted to a Riverside County hospital Sunday, authorities said. The young boy was airlifted from Inland Valley Medical Center to the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley to be treated for a head injury, California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe said. The boy was among 21 passengers on a charter bus traveling to Tijuana from El Monte. The crash happened on Interstate 15 south of State Route 76. Three women were killed in the crash that left 18 others hospitalized. Five of those injured were taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, five to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and eight to Temecula Valley Hospital, Latulippe said. RELATED: At least three dead, 18 injured in bus rollover on Interstate 15Three passengers suffered major injuries, Latulippe said, and officials were determining the other injured patients' conditions Sunday morning.The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the charter bus owned by Executive Lines Inc. slid off the 15 during heavy rain. The bus then continued down an embankment before landing on its roof, ejecting several passengers. A vehicle inspection report dated November 5, 2019, shows that, as of that date, the windshield wipers were either inoperative or defective. The same report shows that the vehicle had no spare fuses “as required.” A second report of the bus line revealed that 48 percent of vehicles in that particular safety group have better on-road performance. PHOENIX, Arizona — Aaron Wallace was sleeping when he was attacked in his bed.The patient at the Arizona State Hospital was stabbed by Reuben Murray, a fellow patient with a murderous past, who was wandering the halls unsupervised in the middle of the night with a sharpened pencil, according to a recent lawsuit filed against the state.The lawsuit raises new questions about safety and security inside Arizona’s only public psychiatric hospital and whether conditions have improved after sweeping changes and promises were made following an extensive KNXV television station three years ago.  The lawsuit also alleges warnings about Murray’s aggressive behavior were ignored in the days before the stabbing.“The place is not better,” said Josh Mozell, an attorney representing Wallace. “Things have not changed.
