JINAN, April 7 (Xinhua) -- China will send 130 peacekeeping troops, the last detachment of the country's first deployment of a full infantry battalion for a United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission, to South Sudan on Tuesday.
Ties between the two countries actually go back to the 17th century, Huang noted, when the famed Manila Galleon plied the Pacific Ocean trade route, connecting China and the Philippines in the east to Peru and Mexico in what became known as "the New World."
The Miyako Strait is one of the few international waterways connecting China's coastal waters to the west Pacific.
"China is ready to work with the U.S. to advance and make fresh progress on the development of a new type of relationship between major powers," Hong said.
"The two leaders will expound their propositions on maintaining the outcomes of WWII, promoting world peace and stability, abiding by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international order with the UN at the core, so as to build a new type of international relations featuring win-win cooperation," said China's Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping at an earlier time.
