BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend a grand gathering to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) on Oct. 1.
In addition, a variety of opera-related activities including seminars, film screening, talent shows, concerts, and exhibitions will be held during the week.
"The Chinese government's position on the Hong Kong issue is very clear," Hua said. "Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs.
