Data crunching firm Palantir Technologies is denying claims made by Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie that it has links to the controversial company.Wylie, a former contractor for Cambridge Analytica, the firm at the center of a debate over how social media data is used, told a UK parliamentary committee on Tuesday that senior Palantir staff had access to user data gleaned from Facebook."There were senior Palantir employees that were also working on the Facebook data," said Wylie. "There were Palantir staff who would come into the office and work on the data."Wylie said there was no official contract between Palantir and Cambridge Analytica, but "there were Palantir staff who helped build the models that we were working on." 760

DENVER – Funeral services for a pregnant Colorado woman and her two daughters, who were killed earlier this month and dumped at an oil and gas site will be held Saturday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.The family of 34-year-old Shanann Watts, her daughters, 4-year-old Bella Marie and 3-year-old Celeste Cathryn, and Shanann’s unborn child, which the family said was going to be called Nico, announced in the Sandhill Sentinel that funeral services would be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst.“She was out pride and joy, a true gift from God,” Shanann’s father and mother, Frank Rzucek and Sandra Onorati Rzucek, wrote in her obituary. “We were so blessed to have such a joyful and wonderful daughter whose beauty was that of a doll.”The obituary says Shanann battled Lupus during life and that Celeste’s birth was exciting because of her struggle with the disease. She and her family were originally from North Carolina.The family asks people to donate to the Lupus Foundation of America, the Frederick (Colo.) DENVER -- With Colorado’s rapid growth comes rising housing costs and more congestion on the road from more cars — and that doesn't even cover parking.A single parking garage space recently sold for a record-setting ,000 in downtown Denver. The spot is located right across the street from the Colorado Convention Center. “That was on a flat surface pretty close to the entry point,” said realtor Mark Trenka, who sells parking spots and real estate downtown.For the same price as a brand new Mercedes Benz C-Class, a Lexus LS, or a 5 Series BMW, someone bought 137 square feet of concrete.“They’re real estate transactions. It’s real property,” Trenka said. Trenka has sold nearly 70 parking spaces in Denver over the last few years, ranging from ,000 up to ,000.“We’ve seen a trend up in prices just like the condos,” he said. Denver is still not at a New York City or Chicago price level for buying parking spots, but the Mile High City’s prices are blazing new territory in Colorado. “The average of a parking space in the downtown area is between ,000 and ,000,” Trenka said. And while it’s a one-time cost to own the asphalt, you’re not out of the woods in terms of paying for it. DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling more than 700,000 vehicles in North America because the backup cameras can show distorted images or suddenly go dark.The recall covers most 2020 versions of Ford’s F-Series trucks, as well as the 2020 Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge.
