MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Police District 2 officers were heartbroken to find a dog abandoned for several days in a cold pickup truck.Scripps station WTMJ in Milwaukee crews were there just in time to see the rescue as police broke into the truck at 17th and National Avenue.Parking tickets on the windshield show it had been there since Saturday. As of Tuesday morning, the car still remains at that location.There was no food or water inside, but the seats were soiled with feces.Despite all of this, the dog seemed to be in good spirits.Offices took it to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, better known as MADACC.Doctor Libby Gutting checked him out. She tells us you should call police if you see a dog alone in a vehicle for more than an hour."An animal could suffer from hypothermia or even pass away from that so we definitely don't want to leave animals outside in any sort of condition especially for a car that's not running," said Dr. Gutting, Medical Director of MADACC.Dr. Gutting said the pitbull is in great shape.If his owner does not come in to claim him in five days, he could go up for adoption."Our concern is that this person has an issue with the way they need to care for their pet which means they need help," said Dr. Gutting.The captain with Milwaukee Police District 2 told WTMJ the owner, in this case, could face an animal cruelty charge.  1419

MoviePass is making big changes in a bid to stay alive.The service, which lets subscribers see a movie a day in the theater, is raising the price of its standard plan from to .95 per month. The change will take effect in the next 30 days.And some major releases will be "limited in their availability" on the service for the first two weeks they're in theaters.It's not clear how "limited" those films will be to MoviePass users. The company did say that big movies may be made available through promotions.MoviePass subscribers have already reported similar restrictions. For example, the blockbuster "Mission: Impossible — Fallout," which opened last weekend, was unavailable for at least some MoviePass customers.The changes come amid serious financial woes for the company, which borrowed million last week so it could pay for movie tickets.MoviePass is also facing some big competition: Less than an hour after the company announced its plans Tuesday, the theater chain AMC said it has enrolled 175,000 people in its own, similar service within the first five weeks of its debut.AMC charges per month for the ability to see three movies a week at any AMC location. It expects to reach 1 million members within two years.MoviePass, meanwhile, has more than 3 million subscribers. (KGTV) - Some COVID-inspired creativity from local youth is about to take center stage.Leo Nava, 12, has been drawing since he was six."I love drawing, and it calms me down," said Nava.It's a calm he appreciates amid the unknowns of the pandemic."Sometimes it helps me tell what I'm feeling ... It helps me ignore my surroundings about what's going on in the world, so I don't get as frustrated or stressed," said Nava. He and dozens others have been tapping their pandemic-inspired creativity through online classes at the nonprofit, A Reason To Survive, a creative development program for under-served youth in the South Bay. The voices of the youth are spoken through poignant photographs and original songs, some speaking the isolation so many are feeling. Some youth, like Nava, are drawn to drawings. Themes include superhero medical workers, toilet paper hoarding, beaches and that claustrophobic quarantine feeling.One piece one by Nava shows a red-eyed Nava typing at a computer all day. In another example, Nava sketched a comic strip panel showing an apocalypse."The asteroid hitting the earth represents quarantine. People are scared. Don't know where it came from or what it's doing," said Nava.Those feelings of fear, say the student's teachers, are mixed with anxiety, isolation, hope, joy and heroism — all part of their pandemic experience.The creativity will shine in a virtual exhibition Saturday."The artwork says, 'Hear me. Listen to me. See me.' Their, voice, viewpoints and identity are the things that leap off the page and the music ... (KGTV) — University City neighbors are concerned with the F-35 coming to MCAS Miramar, saying it will be noisier and less safe.Tuesday night, a post on Nextdoor lit up talking about a fighter jet buzzing homes."When I hear the noise, I just think this is the sound of freedom. This is all about the sound of freedom, but I just also want to hear about safety and I'm not hearing the word safety," neighbor Don Hotz said.He's spoken with 10News before, concerned about flight paths Marines take. Several people have been emailing the base since September 2018, creating two binders full of papers. One concern points to a recent Environmental Impact Report draft by the Air Force, suggesting the noise from the F-35 could make neighborhoods in Idaho uninhabitable.Captain Matthew Gregory, MCAS Miramar director of communications, says the document remains unapproved and un-finalized. In Miramar, they've conducted several studies on noise and environmental impact, ensuring it is safe to bring the jets near the surrounding neighborhoods."On take off the F-35 is 2 decibels louder than the F/A-18 however when they're coming in to land, or in their normal flight, an F-35 is 10 or 11 decibels quieter so that's going to help in the noise reduction of the base," Gregory said. He added, over the next 10 years as the F-35 phases out F/A-18s and AV-8B Harriers, the base will get slightly quieter."The engine noise itself has a higher pitch, we're going to notice it a lot more even if it's quieter," Gregory said. He explained the higher pitch is due to a single technologically advanced engine.Neighbors are concerned a single engine plane is more dangerous. Gregory said there's nothing to worry about."It can be more reliable, it's going to cut down on maintenance costs because you're working on one engine instead of two engines. It's going to have increased range and potentially speed because it's lighter overall," he said.Gregory adds the base runs about a third as many aircraft a year compared to when the Navy operated the base. 2063

Multiple cell phones, scopes, two rifles and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found by police during a search of Travis Reinking's Antioch apartment. In an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, detectives searched Reinking's Discovery at Mountain View apartment and took a number of items. The two rifles were a CZ 452-2EZKM .22 caliber and a Remington 30-06.Police found hundreds of .22 caliber rifle bullets, 87 30-06 bullets, 30 .223 bullets, 29 .45 bullets and 43 .22 caliber bullets.They also found four cell phones, two scopes, a notebook, a safe and several computers. The affidavit describes Reinking's apartment as a one-bedroom apartment. Police said he has been living there for three months. Inside of Reinking's truck that was left at the Waffle House, police found two checks made out to "Travis J. Rankins [sic]." Also, police found an iPod and a Buck Knife with a black sheath.Assorted documents and papers were found in both the apartment and the truck, though what information they contain was not specified.
