BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Central Meteorological Station (CMS) on Sunday evening issued the third orange alert since the first one on Saturday, extending the warning against a strong cold wave and strong wind.     Temperature was expected to fall by 14 to 18 degrees Celsius from Sunday night to Tuesday in central Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shaanxi Province and the western parts in regions along the Yellow and Huaile rivers, or 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in some of these regions, according to the CMS. BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met here Thursday with Sadako Ogata, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).     Li said China-Japan strategic and mutually-beneficial relationship has entered into a new stage and it is in the fundamental interests of the people to stick to China-Japan friendship and mutually-beneficial cooperation.     Li said that the two countries should respect and take care of each other's major concerns, enhance pragmatic cooperation and increase mutual understanding between the two peoples in a bid to push forward bilateral ties in a long-term, healthy and stable manner.     The two governments, via the JICA, Japanese government's overseas aid agency, have conducted effective cooperation since the normalization of bilateral ties, said Li, calling for more exchanges of youth and scientists between the two countries.     Ogata visits China as guest of China's Ministry of Science and Technology

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Wednesday China and the United States should make joint efforts to push forward cooperation on clean energy and climate change in a substantial way.     Wen said such cooperation is important work and in the interests of both countries and the world. He said the two countries should advance cooperation in this area to bring benefit to the human beings and future generations.     Wen made the remarks when meeting with participants of the Strategic Forum for U.S.-China Clean Energy Cooperation that began in Beijing Wednesday. The forum will last to Friday.     The forum was co-sponsored by the Chinese think tank China Institute of Strategy and Management and the Brookings Institution of the United States. Participants include Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and high-ranking officials from both governments. MACAO, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Saturday that "one country, two systems" had been successfully implemented in both Hong Kong and Macao since their return to the motherland.     "The two special administrative regions have accumulated rich experience in the regard, and can learn from each other and make progress together," said the president when meeting with Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and principal officials of the Hong Kong SAR government.     Hu and Tsang arrived here Saturday to attend the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the inauguration of the third-term government of the Macao SAR.
