SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a reported bank robbery suspect in the Mission Valley area late Friday.A bank robbery was reported at the US Bank location at Frazee Road just before 5 p.m., according to San Diego Police. At one point, SWAT officers were called in to assist.SDPD initially reported that shots were fired inside the bank based on accounts from "scared employees" but later confirmed no shots had been fired. Police are currently searching for a suspect. No injuries have been immediately reported. The building was reportedly locked down as police searched.The suspected was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black mask or bandana, black hooded shirt, black pants, tan backpack armed with a handgun. 751

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a body was found in Balboa Park Wednesday afternoon. According to officers, the body was found on the 2100 block of Balboa Drive near Juniper Road and the San Diego Chess Club. The cause of death is unclear at this time. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police identified the man suspected of a sexual assault in a Mission Beach alley as 40-year old Philemon Shark from Seattle. According to San Diego police, a 24-year old woman was walking by herself on Bayside Lane around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday when Shark attacked her. The woman screamed for help, and several residents ran out and stopped Shark before he ran away.Officers caught up to him in a breezeway and took him into custody. Shark was booked on felony sexual assault charges and outstanding warrants from Washington state, according to police.Police said Shark had been in San Diego for a few months before the assault. 653

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — October historically spells fire danger for San Diego and Cal Fire is asking everyone to be ready.The Cedar Fire started Oct. 25, 2003, and burned 280,278 acres. The Witch Creek-Guejito and Harris Fires started Oct. 21, 2007, and burned 288,430 acres. People lost their lives in both fires.Cal Fire Captain Issac Sanchez said it's extremely important San Diegans are prepared to evacuate at a moment's notice. "Be ready to evacuate, have your defensible clearance space done. Not only do it, but do it responsibly. Do it first thing in the morning when temperatures are low and humidity levels are relatively high," Sanchez said.The weather contributes to a dangerous cocktail, increasing October's potency."You have that combination of fuel and weather really giving a one-two punch to us pretty consistently," Sanchez said.The Valley Fire in September reminded San Diegans of how quickly a spark can grow out of control and how fast evacuations can happen.Next week's weather doesn't look good, according to Sanchez. "It's going to be warm, it's going to be dry and there's going to be some sort of wind blowing from the east," says Sanchez.
