(KGTV) - The hit “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” returns to ABC for a second episode Wednesday night. Not when it comes to gear, but when it comes to safety.Don't go aloneDon't surf alone. If you're new to the sport, you definitely don't want to surf alone. Attending a surf school or lesson can help with that. If you've been surfing, it's still always better to surf with a buddy.Warm upStretching out helps prevent injuries. If you're new to surfing, you'll definitely be using some muscles you haven't used before so limber up!Space outBetween your foot and your board's leash, there's plenty of room for your board to get in someone's way and vice-versa. Make sure you have enough room between yourself once you go for a wave. That last thing you want before wiping out is to send your board into someone or catch someone else's board yourself.Don't ruin a waveBefore you paddle out, check the situation. There may be someone hurdling toward you and about to catch a wave. Point being, get your bearings on where others are currently. Paddle out between breaks and you'll be less likely to run into someone.Don't drop inIf you're not paying attention, you may end up on the same wave as another surfer. This can lead to two things, a collision or having to bail out of the wave. Either way, it's bad news. Apologize if you accidentally end up in the situation, but be aware of your surroundings.Spotting a ripRip currents can be a real danger whether you're swimming or surfing. Know how to spot a rip current and where you're allowed to surf, and make sure you're within view of a lifeguard. If you're caught in a rip current, experts say it's important to stay calm. Float, wave your arms and yell to get the attention of a lifeguard or people on shore. 1895

(KGTV) - The stepson of a woman whose family dug her body out of a backyard grave in Tijuana may be in the United States, Mexican authorities said Tuesday. The Deputy Attorney General of Justice in Tijuana is searching for Aaron Seth Juarez, 20, on suspicion of killing Fernanda González Serrano in February. González was last heard from Feb. 2. Her sister Erika became concerned and reported her missing when Gonzalez failed to return phone calls for weeks."Right away, I feel that something is wrong," said Erika.González had shared concerns about her stepson, saying he was using drugs and had guns, Erika said.Shortly after González' disappearance, her husband was treated for a gunshot wound in San Diego. He was reportedly unable to answer any questions.Erika created social media posts requesting help to find her sister. Eventually, she received a horrifying phone call. After two other calls indicating foul play, Erika and her father went to González’ home in Tijuana. They started digging in the backyard and discovered González’ body. ‘Tis the season for holiday travel! This Thanksgiving, air travel is expected to be busier than ever before.“We’re expecting an all-time high for 2018 Thanksgiving travel,” says Sharon Pinkerton, vice president of Airlines for America.U.S. airport officials say 30 million passengers are expected to travel through security checkpoints between Nov. 16 and Nov. 27. That’s up 5 percent from last year.“We want to ensure our passengers can get through our security systems quicker than they do in the past,” says David Pekoske, an administrator with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).To speed the process up, Pekoske says new technology is being put into more airports, including automated screening lanes and improved carry-on scanners.But there are things travelers should do, too, to ensure the security process moves as fast as possible.The biggest checkpoint hold-ups: packing prohibited carry-on items and forgetting things in your pockets.“My advice for PreCheck passengers is to just be patient,” Pekoske says.Even PreCheck passengers will be gambling with longer lines this holiday.“I’ve been in times where I want to get in the other line,” says traveler Dan Stagg, who has TSA PreCheck.Stagg says he’s already seeing the long lines, even for PreCheck travelers. But there is some good news. Pekoske says PreCheck changes are also underway. However, you’ll have to wait until after the holidays to see them.“We are going to put some procedures in place beginning after the first of the year, Pekoske says.“Either adding more PreCheck dedicated lanes or changing internal procedures to accommodate that.”One day for travelers to keep in mind: Nov. 25.
