Jerry Brown today appointed a former Del Mar councilman to the 22nd District Agricultural Association Board of Directors and reappointed two other San Diego County residents to the panel.Brown named Del Mar resident Donald Mosier, 74, to a four-year term on the board that governs the Del Mar Fairgrounds on behalf of the state via a nine-member board of directors. The governor appoints each member of the board to serve a four-year term.The District Agricultural Association is a subdivision of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, charged with holding fairs and exhibitions that highlight "various industries, enterprises, resources, and products of the state," according to the CDFA.The governor reappointed attorney Frederick Schenk, 65, and Lisa Barkett, 59, who have served since 2011.Mosier is the Climate Action Plan facilitator for the city of Del Mar and is a member of multiple governing boards, including the Del Mar Community Connections Board, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Climate Action Campaign Board of Directors. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Countywide sales of previously owned single-family homes and attached properties like condominiums increased from June to July while median sale prices ticked down, according to data released Wednesday by the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors.Single-family home sales rose 2.4%, from 1,980 in June to 2,028 in July, while attached property sales ticked up 5.1%, from 975 in June to 1,025 last month. Both increases are a modest recovery for the housing market after housing sales tumbled by double digits from May to June.Median sales prices for both property types dipped slightly in July after steady gains each month of the year, save for attached property prices from March to April. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A woman was shot when a verbal argument turned physical in the Valencia Park neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.It happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of Palin Street, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.``During the argument it turned physical with pushing,'' Heims said. ``There were gunshots and a 35-year-old female was shot in the foot.''The woman was driven to a hospital with a wound not believed to be life-threatening, he said.There was no suspect description, Heims said. 549

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - CVS Health announced Thursday it is expanding its COVID- 19 no-cost testing program by adding 35 more test sites at select CVS Pharmacy drive-thrus across California, including three locations in San Diego County, amid a surge in new coronavirus cases.The opening of additional test sites on Friday adds to the 107 locations previously opened statewide, including 14 in San Diego County.The nearly 200 additional test sites opening across the country this week are among the more than 1,400 locations CVS Health has opened since May and expand the company's testing capacity to more than 1.5 million tests per month, subject to availability of supplies and lab capacity, according to President and CEO Larry J. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public Tuesday for help in identifying a man who robbed a supermarket banking counter in Alpine about four months ago. The thief, who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, approached a teller at the US Bank satellite office in the Albertsons store in the 2900 block of Alpine Boulevard and presented a demand note about 4 p.m. June 4, according to the FBI. After the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber left the grocery store and fled in a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck. The perpetrator was described as a black-haired, roughly 5-foot-5-inch Latino in blue jeans, a black shirt, tan shoes and a black baseball cap with an ``LA'' logo on the front.
