As schools begin to reopen, some children will go back and others won't. People are taking different strides and therapists claim it can be an awkward time for families."It's very awkward being around people," mother Valentina Cattaneo said. "It's like, do you put your mask on? Do you take it off? Do they feel weird that you're wearing it? Do you feel weird they are not wearing it?"Cattaneo said being social isn't easy anymore."People are so used to social interaction and when this struck us, it's like people can't be themselves anymore," she said.Playdates in a pandemic can bring up anxiety, even in the form of an invitation. "There is a logical reason you may be hanging out with these people and not those."She suggested making plans for the future."Be apologetic but also state the reasons, the rationale, for why you don't feel safe yet, and if the person is not able to accept that feedback, then you did the best you could," Tomko said.Dr. Chad Rudnick, a pediatrician with Boca VIPediatrics, said an individual's own health has to come first."Right now, in the times of COVID, it's always OK to say, 'No,'" he said. "You never have to feel bad about declining a play date or an invite to go to someone's house or do anything with another family. Authorities are currently hunting a suspect in central Tennessee after a Dickson County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed on Wednesday. The suspect has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list.Officials are searching for 31-year-old Steven Joshua Wiggins west of Nashville in connection with the death of Sgt. Daniel Baker with the Dickson County Sheriff's Office.Baker was killed Wednesday morning after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle. He was found inside his patrol car. Wiggins, who has been arrested for aggravated assault and misdemeanor vandalism in the past, is considered to be armed and dangerous. He’s been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list. The reward for his capture has been increased to ,500.   843

At a contentious meeting on Monday, the Department of Justice's antitrust chief gave AT&T a choice: to get your purchase of Time Warner done, either sell off CNN's parent unit or DirecTV, or we'll see you in court.The government is holding up AT&T's pending acquisition of Time Warner, stirring speculation that the Trump administration is trying to retaliate against CNN for its coverage of the president.According to two sources with knowledge of the meeting, the DOJ is demanding that AT&T divest all of Turner, the unit of Time Warner that includes CNN as well as TNT and TBS."Threatening Turner is a fig leaf for threatening CNN," one of the sources said.AT&T is said to be reluctant to sell assets, especially Turner, which represents a significant portion of Time Warner's profits.Earlier on Wednesday AT&T said the timing of the deal's closing is now "uncertain.""We are in active discussions with the DOJ," John J. Stephens, chief financial officer for AT&T, said at a Wells Fargo conference.The stock of Time Warner, which owns CNN, fell more than 6.5% by Wednesday afternoon. ATLANTA, GA. – The prevalence of adult obesity is increasing in the United States, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).The CDC said Thursday that its 2019 Adult Obesity Prevalence Maps show that 12 states now have an obesity prevalence at or above 35%. Those states include Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. This is up from nine states in 2018 and six states in 2017.The data also shows that racial and ethnic disparities still persist across the nation.A total of 34 states and Washington D.C. had an obesity prevalence of 35% or higher among non-Hispanic Black adults, 15 states had a prevalence of 35% or higher among Hispanic adults, and six states had a prevalence of 35% or higher among non-Hispanic white adults.Addressing the prevalence of obesity in America is more important than ever, because the CDC says obese adults are at heightened risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19. It increases the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death.The CDC says obesity also disproportionately impacts some racial and ethnic minority groups who are also at increased risk of COVID-19.“These disparities underscore the need to remove barriers to healthy living and ensure that communities support a healthy, active lifestyle for all,” wrote the CDC in a press release.While system and environment changes can take time, officials say Americans can take small steps now to maintain or improve their health and protect themselves during the pandemic.“Being active and eating a healthy diet can support optimal immune function and help prevent or manage chronic diseases that worsen outcomes from COVID-19,” the CDC wrote. “These actions, as well as getting enough sleep and finding healthy ways to cope with stress can help with weight maintenance and improve overall health.” 1934
