The season of gift giving brings a lot of people happiness, but the price you pay for a present can sometimes be more than you intended. Circadence CTO Bradley Hayes says cybersecurity attacks are on the rise during the holidays.“There’s a lot more online shopping that happens during the holidays, so there’s just a richer field of targets for this,” Chief Technical Officer Bradley Hayes said. The convenience of online shopping is attracting more and more people, but not everyone is familiar with the scams out there putting many at risk.“Just shy of 10 percent of individuals experienced some form of identity theft during the holiday season last year,” Hayes said. That number is expected to rise this year. Hayes says people are more likely to get their data stolen when using simple passwords, or the same password for multiple sites. He says you also need to be cautious of who you choose to store data with because there’s a possibility for any company to be breached.“So if you’re saying ‘save my credit card information', that is a risk that you’re taking for that convenience and it might not be worth it,” Hayes said. The internet has made it so people can fall victim to cybersecurity attacks in everyday life, but if more people understand the motivations and methods scammers are using, cybersecurity attacks might be less successful. So why not use a game to help educate? As a company that specializes in creating cybersecurity learning platforms, Creative Director Cassie Brubaker says Circadence is now rolling out InCyt. It’s a web-based battle strategy game where you experience the cyber world from both an offensive and defensive point of view.“I think the most unique aspect that InCyt really brings to the table is completely removing the intimidation barrier that comes with cybersecurity,” Brubaker said.Brubaker hopes the game will make the topic of cybersecurity easy for everyone to understand covering a wide range of topics.“We cover passwords, email security, bringing your own device into work, social networking, social engineering – what are the aspects of your social life that actually are putting you at risk of a cyber-attack?” Brubaker said. You learn how to find information about somebody like what it means to search social media, or what it means to make a phishing call. Then you learn how that information can be used maliciously.“Oh no, I successfully hacked her!” someone testing the game said.Someone testing the game for the first time says she was almost creeped out learning the ways someone can discover information about you.“Things that I hadn’t really thought of before like people listening to you,” she said.According the Hayes, scammers during the holidays are willing to prey upon people through email, or as a seller on a marketplace website like Amazon. Any unsolicited emails should be ignored, and if something seems like too good of a deal, make sure to use a critical eye and do your research. Otherwise, you may never receive what you buy, or your personal information could be sold.“The holidays are a time when your guard is down. You’re kind of looking at the joy of the world and buying gifts and connecting with family. And that unfortunately is also a really vulnerable time for people to not pay attention to some of the smaller details,” Brubaker said.  3343

This is a very rough game. Most people who have not played at this level will never understand what we put our bodies through season after season. We don’t need the sympathy because this is what we signed up for but to “boo” a man that battled for that city is disgraceful.— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) August 25, 2019 335

Three members of the New York Police Department have died by suicide in less than 10 days, Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill said Friday.Last week, a respected chief and an experienced detective died within 24 hours of one another, O'Neill said. Friday, a "promising 29-year-old police officer with six years on the job" died behind the NYPD precinct in Staten Island, where he worked, the commissioner said."This is a mental-health crisis. And we -- the NYPD and the law enforcement profession as a whole -- absolutely must take action," O'Neill said 566

There's an interesting phenomenon happening these days. A generation that came of age as marijuana came onto the scene is now rediscovering it. Marijuana has come a long way, from shady street corner dealers to lucrative businesses. And one of the fastest-growing customer bases has been baby boomers."I smoke every day as my expectorant in the morning because of a lung issue maybe from the pulmonary embolism," Keith Evanovich said, Evanovich is one of the many older Americans flocking to marijuana.A work injury the early 2000s left him partially paralyzed, and his struggles continued as he dealt with other health issues, weighing about 300 pounds at one point."I don't want to be that guy that's going to go 'hey I'm fat - I'm overweight - my waist was like 52 inches.' Being a man and having two boys and being crippled like I was, you can't do a lot," Evanovich said. But since he started using marijuana several years ago, he is in better shape. Evanovich and his wife are now making different types of cannabis products on their own."I mean it's diet too, but I mean you know if you don't exercise. I'm not saying cannabis can cure you like that," Evanovich said. Recent studies show aging baby boomers who turn to cannabis are usually seeking to treat pains and diseases that come with old age. That's true for cancer survivor Cindy Brown. But now, she's using cannabis not just for its medicinal benefits."I also put the CBD and the THC in my coconut oil for my face moisturizer, and I noticed that I have less little tiny wrinkles," Brown said. Others like Bobbie Friedman use marijuana because they can't tolerate opioids."They make me throw up. When you have pain, the last thing you want to do is throw up," said physical therapist Bobbie Friedman. But as older Americans go green in their golden years, significant questions remain: What are the side effects of long term marijuana use, and how does it affect seniors?Dr. Upinder Singh calls this "uncharted territory.""The biggest problem with it is there have been not enough definitive studies. The problem with cannabis is that it is treated totally different than any other regular medicine which comes to the market after being FDA approved," Singh said. That's because the federal government still outlaws cannabis, classified as a Schedule I drug along with heroin, which means it has no therapeutic value."Anything you put in your body can have serious repercussions. people need to be mindful and careful that nothing is without side effects or problems," Singh said. However, those who find relief from cannabis think the benefits outweigh the unknown."It gives me the quality of life. That's what I tell everybody at the gym. Hey man, there's nothing wrong with smoking weed," Evanovich said. 2782
