SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man running in and out of traffic while naked in Little Italy died after being taken into police custody Friday.Witnesses say the man was yelling for help in the area of 600 W. Grape Street at about 11 p.m. When the first San Diego Police officer responded, he was able to place handcuffs on the man.As the officer led the man out of traffic, though, witnesses told police the man began to struggle and was taken to the ground by the officer. At least two civilians had to help restrain the man until more officers arrived.RELATED: El Cajon hit-and-run crash suspect found hiding under bedThe man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died just before midnight. The man's death was ruled as an in-custody death.During the struggle, the man suffered a cut to the head. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego County woman has filed a lawsuit against a local physician who she says used his own sperm to artificially inseminate her.The discovery occurred decades later after Beverly Willhelm and her husband sought out a fertility specialist in the late 80s.Instead of receiving anonymous sperm, she says the doctor used his own. Willhelm says her son, 23-year-old James Mallus, learned after taking a 23andMe DNA test that his biological dad was the same man that his mother consulted to become pregnant.Willhelm says she's now suing the doctor for fertility fraud in a civil lawsuit.Though Willhelm's attorney said the lawsuit was filed Wednesday, ABC 10News is not naming the doctor because we have not been able to confirm that with the San Diego County Courthouse.According to the lawsuit, the doctor still practices in San Diego County. The lawsuit claims that "the Defendant, without Plaintiff's knowledge or consent, used his own sperm to impregnate her."The suit goes on to say that "based on allegations regarding his mistreatment of numerous patients in 1992-93, Defendant surrendered his California medical license in 1999."The doctor's license was reinstated in 2004. Those allegations are not related to the current lawsuit or other instances of fertility fraud.ABC 10News has reached out to the doctor in the lawsuit, but have not heard back. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new poll shows many San Diegans would “definitely” or “probably” get a COVID-19 vaccine if it were available to them at little or no cost.An ABC 10News/San Diego Union-Tribune scientific poll recently asked 500 San Diego adults about their thoughts on a potential coronavirus vaccine, including who should get a vaccine first and their feelings towards vaccinations in general.Among the questions participants were asked: “A vaccine for the Coronavirus may soon be available to the public. If clinical trials go well, and a vaccine is available to you that is either free or costs just a few dollars, would you definitely get the vaccine? Probably get the vaccine? Probably not get the vaccine? Or definitely not get the vaccine?”The poll shows 38% of San Diegans would definitely get the vaccine; 32% would probably get the vaccine; 12% would probably not get it; 10% would definitely not get it; 8% are not sure.The release of the poll comes on the same day biotech company Moderna announced its COVID-19 vaccine candidate is 94.5% effective.The company’s chief medical officer, Dr. Tal Zaks, called the news one of the greatest moments of his life, adding, “It is absolutely amazing to me to be able to develop this vaccine and see the ability to prevent symptomatic disease with such high efficacy."Moderna reported no major side effects, and that unlike Pfizer’s vaccine announcement last week, Moderna’s vaccine does not require extreme refrigeration temperatures -- something many experts agreed would be a significant advantage for distribution.The federal government has said the coronavirus vaccine would be free, and some experts have suggested that with the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization -- which both companies are expected to apply for in the next few weeks -- there could be enough doses manufactured to immunize 20 million people by early next year.Other poll questions that San Diegans were asked: 1948

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A growing number of teens report feeling lonely or left out according to a new study out of San Diego State University. The research was authored by psychology professor Jean Twenge and published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. Among the findings:High school seniors who reported feeling lonely went from 26 percent in 2016 to 39 percent in 2017.High school seniors who said they often felt left out rose from 30 percent in 2012 to 38 percent in 2017. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A missing 16-year-old girl from Mira Mesa has been found after disappearing November 8. Cirena was found late Monday afternoon walking on a street in Salton City. A good Samaritan who saw news reports approached the 16-year-old and asked if she wanted to go to the police station, the family says. As of Tuesday morning, the family told 10News she was back home and healthy. After she went missing, the family says a missing persons report was filed. Days later, family members found Cirena’s phone tossed a few blocks away between two homes.
