A Maryland woman says she failed a drug test the day she gave birth to her daughter and was reported to state social workers, all because she ate a poppy seed bagel for breakfast.WBAL-TV in Baltimore reports that Elizabeth Eden ate a poppy seed bagel for breakfast on the morning of April 4. She went into labor later that day and went to St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson to deliver her daughter.However, while she was in labor, a doctor told her she had tested positive for opiates.Poppy seeds come from the same plant which is used to make opium, heroin and other drugs, so it's common for drug tests to pick up on trace amounts of opiates.However, while the federal government measures a positive test at 2,000 nanograms a milliliter, St. Joseph Medical Center measures a positive test at 300 nanograms a milliliter. The hospital says the lower threshold for a positive test means they can treat more children born with drugs in their system — the Baltimore Sun reports that the number of babies born with drugs in their systems increased by 56.6 percent between 2006 and 2015.Eden says the hospital refused to release her daughter to her for five days following the false positive. She also says she was assigned a caseworker, who promptly dropped the case when learning of her breakfast on the morning of April 4.Eden isn't alone. In 2017, an Edgewood, Kentucky woman was assigned a social worker after she tested positive to opioids, saying she ate bagel chips with poppy seeds shortly before giving birth. A runner in Sunday's London Marathon who appeared on the BBC television show "Masterchef: The Professionals" collapsed during the race and later died, according to the event organizers.Matt Campbell, 29, collapsed after running 22.5 miles of the 26.2-mile course, the London Marathon organization said in a statement. Despite receiving immediate medical treatment, Campbell died later at a hospital. The cause of death has not yet been established.The organizers offered their "sincere condolences to Matt's family and friends," adding that the family has asked for privacy.Campbell's family paid tribute to an "inspirational son and brother," who was an avid marathon runner. He also was a professional chef who appeared on the competitive cooking show "Masterchef: The Professionals" in 2017.He was running the London Marathon to raise money for The Brathay Trust, which inspires vulnerable people to make positive changes in their lives, and in memory of his father, who died in 2016. A student at Island Park High School in Florida was suspended after the principal and other staff members saw him imitating a gun with his hands and pretending to shoot in a classroom.This happened Friday. "You shouldn't be doing something like that at all," former Island Park High School student Devan Hinton said."It's just not something to be taken lightly," Sam Sherman, who lives in Fort Myers, told Scripps station WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida.The principal called the Lee County Sheriff's Office to file an incident report after he saw the student "imitating a rifle with his hands and pointing it to the classroom."Another staff member described the student making "a gesture with his arm simulating as if he was firing a weapon into the classroom."A third staff member said the student "stood in the classroom doorway and made a machine gun style pose with his arms pretending to shoot at the classroom.""That isn't OK. With everything going on, that's not something to joke about. That's lives in someone's hands," Hinton said.The principal said he didn't think the student was serious but will not tolerate this behavior in school, so he suspended him.It's an action Sherman said he agrees with for the safety of the students."It's better to be preventative than wait and let it go on, and God forbid something else occur," he said.The principal of Island Park High School, Arthur Nauss, sent WFTX this statement:"I took the disciplinary action of sending the student home after I observed him pointing his finger at another student imitating that he was shooting a gun. A massive fire broke out in Queens, New York on Thursday morning — a blaze that has injured at least 12 people, including seven firefighters.NBC New York reports that 25 fire departments responded to the fire, which started in the Sunnyside neighborhood in Queens. Six businesses were damaged by the fire.None of the injuries are minor injuries and not expected to be life-threatening.One of the buildings affected by the fire experienced a collapse during the incident, according to fire officials. A pre-teen's basketball shot from beyond the arc was good for more than just a few points in Springfield.Springfield police say a group of ten-to-twelve-year-old kids helped them catch a suspected burglar on the run. It all started after officers responded to a call for a burglary. Police say they received reports that a 50-year-old male had just broken into a garage and stole several items, including two weed trimmers before taking off on a bike. He dropped the lawn tools after encountering police and rode awat. According to a post from the Springfield Police Department, the first officer followed him in his patrol car until backup arrived and started chasing him on foot.That's where the young All-Stars come into play.  Police say the kids were playing basketball nearby and one of them "threw a basketball across the roadway at the suspect, striking him, causing him to wreck his bicycle in the grass."Officers were then able to book the suspect into custody for burglary.  1033
