Papa John's tanked Tuesday after a report that a plan to sell the company has fallen apart.The Wall Street Journal reported that the asset manager Trian Management Funds is no longer interested in bidding for the company. According to the Journal, others are still considering taking a stake in the company, but not a total purchase.Papa John's (PZZA) stock was down 10% at market close Tuesday.Papa John's declined to comment for this story. Trian did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN Business.Rumors have been swirling for weeks about potential buyers for the company. Each report has caused shares of the company to spike. The Journal reported Trian's interest last month.Without a buyer, the struggling pizza company will have to find a way to convince investors that it can solve its problems on its own, and beat out competitors Domino's and Pizza Hut. That's a tall order.The company has been working hard to distance itself from controversial founder John Schnatter, who resigned his role as chairman in July after news broke that he had used the N-word on a conference call.Papa John's said earlier this month that same-store sales in North America fell by 9.8% during the most recent quarter. Total revenue dropped 15.7% from a year earlier to about 4 million.Schnatter also stepped down as CEO at the end of last year after he caused a controversy by blaming the NFL for poor pizza sales. Schnatter said sales were hurt by the way the league handled players' kneeling during the National Anthem in protest of racial injustice.Since then, Papa John's hasn't been able to regain its momentum, and sales have continued to slip.Other pizza sellers have struggled this quarter. Pizza Hut's sales were flat, and though Domino's (DPZ) reported domestic and international same-store growth, the company missed analyst expectations.But Pizza Hut and Domino's are better equipped to win the pizza wars. (KGTV) -- A Temecula woman who stopped to help victims of a deadly bus crash in Pala Mesa on the I-15 freeway is hoping to connect with the family of the woman she comforted until she passed. Jacqueline Hernandez says she never thought twice about stopping to help the victims of the bus crash. She says it was pouring rain, but when she noticed what happened, she pulled over to ask how she could help. Hernandez says she joined other Good Samaritans that had pulled over to help. She says, she arrived just moments after the crash. The charter bus traveling from El Monte to Tijuana on the southbound 15 when it crashed. Three women were killed, 18 people were sent to local hospitals. Hernandez tells 10News she noticed a woman ejected from the bus and says two men started alternating CPR. She says she tried to keep the woman alert, speaking to her in Spanish and holding her face. Eventually paramedics told Hernandez the woman no longer had a pulse. While Hernandez tried to help the woman, her two children passed out blankets to the other victims that were injured.Hernandez wants the woman's family to know their loved one was not alone in her final moments. The California Highway Patrol is now helping Hernandez arrange a meeting with the woman's family. Hernandez is hoping to help them financially with funeral costs. The three victims were identified as ,23-year-old Cinthya Karely Rodriguez Banda, Maria De La Luz Diaz, 67 of Riverside, and Julia Perez Cornejo, 73. 1508

Donovan State Prison houses some of California’s most infamous inmates but is now getting attention for testing innovative rehabilitation methods.One of the projects is an ambitious, 1,000-foot long mural scaling the concrete walls of part of the prison known as Echo Yard.It’s being spearheaded by inmates Erik and Lyle Menendez. The two gained notoriety in the 1990s for their highly publicized murder trial, when they were convicted of killing their wealthy parents in their Beverly Hills home. But in April of 2018, they were reunited at Donovan State Prison in Echo Yard. 10News got a glimpse at their life together behind bars. PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Four Florida siblings were on a mission to bring their dad home. Scott Piwinski has terminal throat cancer and the community came together to grant his final wish. Quadruplets Nick, Danielle, Rachael and Sarah Piwinski were preparing to spend their last Thanksgiving with their dad.“My dad. He means everything to me,” Nick said.“It definitely has been a struggle. I’m grateful for my siblings,” Danielle chimed in.Together, the 21-year-old siblings worked to complete their dad’s final wish — to spend his remaining days in his own home.“For him to come home one last time and spend it with us — for hours, days or weeks — is going to be incredible,” Rachael said while wiping away tears. But two years fighting terminal throat cancer took a toll on Scott and his Palm Harbor, Florida home. From a hole in the roof to stained carpet, the home was in need of some TLC. “The entire house was not in any shape for him to come home to,” Danielle said.So the siblings put out a call to the community and Scott’s Coast Guard family, where he served as a chief for more than two decades.Almost immediately, dozens of volunteers fixed the roof, put in new floors and prepared Scott’s bedroom for his return.“They said if we were in this situation, we know Scott would do the same,” Sarah said with a smile.Next door neighbor Melissia Delgado was one of the volunteers to chip in.“When we first moved into our Palm Harbor home, Scott had just been diagnosed with cancer," Delgado said. "He had a trach in his throat and he was outside offering to help us move furniture into our house! Which was amazing.”Even strangers like Carissa Konopack donated an entire Thanksgiving meal.“It just touched me so deeply and I really felt like I wanted to help too,” Konopack explained.The Piwinski siblings hoped to bring their dad home by Thanksgiving, but an insurance mix-up pushed back their plans. However, he did return home Friday afternoon, much to his family's delight.But they spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Suncoast Hospice.“That means the most to us," Danielle said, "that we’re all together." 2171
