An Arizona man says he discovered something disgusting in his Culver's butter burger, and now he wants answers.Najib Anek says he bit into a fake fingernail that fell off the finger of an employee who made his food at the Culver's in Peoria. "It was inside the sandwich halfway through," Anek said. "It was crunchy man. I threw up three times."Anek said he complained to management, and they apologized.He also said the store's management watched the surveillance video and saw the female employee making his burger without gloves and missing a fingernail.Maricopa County food inspection records show the Culver's location has all "A" ratings going back to 2015. Now, that could change. "Yes, I called the health department, and I have a complaint number," Anek said. The Culver's manager said their insurance is looking into the situation and the offending employee is on leave.  958

An Indiana man faces charges for leaving a loaded gun in the car with his family as he shopped, after his 3-year-old daughter accidentally shot her mother, police said.Shanique Thomas, the woman who was shot, told police she was unaware that Menzo Brazier, 21, was carrying his weapon when they left their residence in Michigan City, Indiana.They brought along their children, a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, the Merrillville, Indiana, Police Department said. Brazier asked if Thomas wanted to join him as he went to a nearby store and tried on clothes.But Thomas is seven weeks pregnant and told police she was feeling ill. So she decided to stay in the car, which was parked in the lot in Merrillville, with the children while Brazier shopped.Brazier left the loaded Glock19 9mm handgun between the center armrest and the front passenger seat, police said. His 3-year-old daughter got hold of it, and Thomas told police she heard a "loud pop, like a balloon." Then she realized the blood she saw was coming from her own body.The bullet went through the driver's seat where she was sitting and struck her back.She got out of the car to make sure her children were safe. That's when she found the gun, now in the backseat. Brazier was charged with two counts of criminal recklessness and two counts of neglect of a dependent."We just heard screaming," Hadassah Zirkle, a Plato's Closet employee, told CNN affiliate WLS. "We ran outside with a bunch of other people."The children were placed in custody of the Indiana Department of Child Services and remain there."The first thought was to get the kids out of there," Rebecca Todd, another employee, told WLS. ARLINGTON, Va. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says it screened more travelers on the day before Thanksgiving than any day since March 16, around the time the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S.TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein announced on Twitter Thursday that the administration screened 1,070,967 people at its checkpoints nationwide on Wednesday.“It's the highest volume since March 16 and only the 4th time passenger throughput has topped 1 million since that date,” wrote Farbstein.Still, air travel is significantly down, compared to in 2019. Last year, TSA says 2,602,631 people were screened on Thanksgiving eve. That’s more than double the amount screened this year.As coronavirus cases spike throughout the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is advising not to travel to visit loved ones this Thanksgiving. (AP) — Cal Fire alleges that fast food chain In-N-Out was responsible for a 2017 wildfire in rural Arroyo Grande, according to a lawsuit filed in San Luis Obispo Superior Court.The San Luis Obispo Tribune reports that Cal Fire claims the September 2017 wildfire was caused by a tractor mowing grass on In-N-Out property, saying it was covered in “dry annual grasses and scattered brush, which created a receptive bed of flammable vegetation.” The agency also claims the tractor was improperly maintained and the driver allowed the fire to spread.Cal Fire is seeking roughly .2 million from the burger chain to recoup costs.The fire burned about 245 acres (99 hectares) in four days.
