It’s a simple message: “Count every vote."It's what a crowd in Pennsylvania is chanting, as officials continue counting ballots in the battleground state. For Kierstyn Zolfo, it’s a personal one.“We believe that every vote needs to be counted,” she said. “I voted by mail-in, and I do that regularly anyway because I have disability issues.”Her mobility may be limited, but her voice--and those of others in this crowd--are not. Just 30 miles north of Philadelphia, in the all-important suburbs and outside the Bucks County Elections Office, residents rallied.“We're also here to celebrate that we're outside of the place that the votes were being counted,” said Marlene Pray, who organized the rally. It’s an effort called Protect The Vote. They are pushing to make sure every vote in the state, no matter the party affiliation, gets counted.“It's a completely nonpartisan effort. We just want to make sure that every vote gets counted,” said Bob Edwards with Protect The Vote. “I mean, what could be more simple and what more American than that?”Yet, the Trump campaign is suing Pennsylvania on several legal fronts, hoping to block certain mail-in votes, votes that the Pennsylvania Secretary of State said were legally cast by the millions there in the largest numbers ever seen in the state. The potential for multiple legal challenges here in Pennsylvania looms large, especially for ballots received after Election Day, which by state law, can still be counted if they were postmarked on Election Day and are delivered to elections offices by Friday.“This is profoundly important,” Pray said.It is something Kierstyn Zolfo sees, as well.“This is about American principles,” she said, “counting every vote.” 1719

Investigators believe some of the suspicious, potentially explosive packages sent to 8 prominent politicians and a large media organization may have originated in Florida, according to one law enforcement official.A second law enforcement official said federal investigators are in Florida investigating leads. The latest packages, addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden, are similar to eight others found earlier this week. Those packages were addressed to former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and others, as well as actor Robert DeNiro, a vocal critic of President Trump. The President has denounced the apparent bombing attempts, saying "Such conduct must be fiercely opposed and thoroughly prosecuted," but at a rally Thursday night and again Friday morning he blamed the media, tweeting that "fake news is fueling anger around the country."Most of the packages were intercepted at mail facilities and got nowhere near their intended targets. 968

INTERACTIVE MAP: Where the Woolsey?Fire is burning in Ventura and LA countiesMALIBU (CNS) -The Woolsey Fire that has burned at least 83,000 acres in Los Angeles and Ventura counties has claimed the homes of several celebrities, along with the historic Paramount Ranch, where countless movies and television shows have been filmed since 1927.The ranch -- which served as a location for shows such as "MASH," "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," and most recently, HBO's "Westworld" -- was destroyed save for a chapel, according to the National Park Service, which operates the site. The mansion used for ABC's "The Bachelor" escaped destruction, but the fire did burn the lower house. No one was at the location at the time with the current cast filming abroad, network officials said.RELATED: Woolsey Fire burns 70,000 acres, still zero percent containmentMany celebrities evacuated their homes, including "Lord of the Rings" star Orlando Bloom, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, "The Shape of Water" director Guillermo del Toro, actors Alyssa Milano, Rainn Wilson and Mark Hamill, singers Melissa Etheridge and Lady Gaga, and MGM TV chairman Mark Burnett and his wife, producer-actress Roma Downey.According to US Weekly, singer Robin Thicke lost his Malibu home. The homes of "Dr. Strange" director Scott Derrickson and Fox Sports' Eric Wynalda were destroyed by the fire.RELATED: Caitlyn Jenner's Malibu home destroyed in Woolsey Fire, Kardashians evacuate"We lost our home, but we are all safe and that's the important thing," Derrickson tweeted Friday."Gonna be offline for awhile," Wynalda tweeted. In the month since news broke of allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Harvey Weinstein, about 1 in 5 Americans said close friends or family members shared stories about sexual harassment or assault on social media, according to a CNN poll.Headlines about the scandal and the culture in which it flourished were just as ubiquitous, especially as other powerful men were called out. About 66% of people said they've heard a lot of news stories about sexual harassment and assault lately, according to the same poll. But what do people really think of all this coverage and the impact it will have? The CNN poll conducted by SSRS found that most people are hopeful that the surge of attention on sexual harassment and assault could help make things better. 776

Interim security clearances for White House aides, including Jared Kushner, were downgraded last week after chief of staff John Kelly stipulated new changes to how officials access the nation's secrets, according to sources familiar with the matter.Aides who previously operated on "top secret" interim clearances saw their access changed to "secret," a classification for less sensitive material. In a February 16 memo, Kelly stated that White House officials who have been operating on interim clearances since last June would have their temporary clearances discontinued. That included Kushner, the President's son-in-law and senior adviser. Asked on Friday whether he would grant Kushner an exemption from the new mandate, Trump said it would be Kelly's decision. The White House has refused to detail the status of Kushner's clearance.Kushner is accepting the decision about his security clearance and "will not ask for special permission" from the President, one person familiar with situation says.Politico first reported the security clearance downgrade."He is a valued member of the team and will continue to do the important work he has been doing since he started in the administration," press secretary Sarah Sanders said on Tuesday. After the memo's release, White House officials worked to identify a way for Kushner to continue working on his portfolio of issues -- including on the Middle East and China -- that would avoid forcing Trump to personally intervene.Officials have expressed worry that Trump's personal involvement could create problems within the West Wing and with Kelly.The-CNN-Wire? & ? 2018 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company.
