BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced Friday it would sell 28 billion yuan (4.2 billion U.S. dollars) of book-entry discount treasury bonds from next Monday.The bonds would be sold at a discount and mature at face value, said the ministry in a statement on its website.With a term of 91 days, the issue price of the discount bonds would be 99.542 yuan, said the statement.The bonds will be sold from Oct. 25 to 27 and become tradable on inter-bank and securities bond markets on Oct. 29.The issue is the 14th batch of its kind this year.

ANKARA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Ankara on Thursday night for a three-day official visit to Turkey.Turkey is the last leg of Wen's four-nation tour, which has taken him to Greece, Belgium and Italy. BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese military official reiterated on Friday that a peaceful resolution through consultation and negotiation was needed to handle disputes over the South China Sea.Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), made the remarks in his keynote speech at the opening of the Xiangshan military forum in Beijing, which discussed Asia-Pacific security issues.Ma reiterated that China has indisputable sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea and the surrounding waters, and is committed to enhancing dialogue and cooperation with the parties concerned to maintain peace and stability in the region.He stressed that China had always guaranteed freedom of navigation in and flying over the South China Sea in accordance with international law."It is the common interests of China and other countries to maintain freedom and security of navigation in the region," he said.""We also believe that the overall situation in the South China Sea is stable," Ma said.
