An elderly woman was found by a drone in a corn field in North Carolina after the local sheriff's office investigated a missing person's report.The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Sunday morning and launched a search for the woman using a drone and K9.The search was slowed due to difficult terrain and a corn field. However, the drone pilot was able to locate the missing woman by air within 25 minutes.The sheriff's office said the woman's family expressed their gratitude for the quick response. 556

America's aging infrastructure is expected to be a hot topic for voters in the upcoming midterm elections.Lawmakers on both sides want to fix it, but there’s one major sticking point: how do you pay for it?President Donald Trump has proposed a trillion plan to improve aging roads, bridges and tunnels across the country.Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao told Fortune magazine there's one sticking point between the two parties.“How do you pay for it, is the toughest question,” says Chao. “There are many ways of paying for the infrastructure proposal, and I would say the majority of them are not ones I could get consensus from in this audience.”One way that Republicans propose to raise money will impact most Americans directly.“A gas tax increase and a diesel tax increase of about 15 cents a gallon for gas and 20 cents for diesel to help fund this, because we do need to fund infrastructure upgrades,” says Republican strategist Ryan Williams. “We can't make the money appear out of thin air.”Republicans also want to raise money by letting private sector businesses help finance projects.Democrats have come up with their own trillion-dollar plan.“Where's the money [going] to come from? We don't want to increase our deficit. The tax bill's done that enough,” says Sen. An eruption from the Kilauea volcano's summit shot ash and smoke into the air early Thursday on Hawaii's Big Island, and the resulting plume is expected to cover the surrounding area, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.Nearby residents are being asked to shelter in place if they are in the path of the ash plume, which the wind is carrying to the southeast of the volcano."Driving conditions may be dangerous so if you are driving pull off the road and wait until visibility improves," an alert from the observatory warned.Thursday's eruption is just the latest volcanic activity contributing to the nightmare on the Big Island since the volcano first went off May 3.An ash plume Wednesday rose roughly 12,000 feet into the air, and on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey issued a red alert, which means a major eruption is imminent or underway and ash could affect air traffic.It is not clear if this was a phreatic eruption, which US Geological Survey officials have been saying is capable of sending ash plumes as far as 12 miles away from the summit.These are steam-driven explosions that occur when water beneath the ground or on the surface is heated by magma, lava, hot rocks or new volcanic deposits, the USGS says. The intense heat may cause that water to boil and result in eruptions.The lava lake in the crater has been dropping since May 2, which increases the chances for a phreatic explosion, but it will be difficult to warn residents who may be in the path of such an eruption.Phreatic eruptions are "notoriously hard to forecast, and can occur with little or no warning," Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist Janet Babb said.While the ash being launched into the sky is not poisonous, Hawaii County officials have warned residents about toxic sulfur dioxide seeping out of 21 fissures caused by the volcano."Severe conditions may exist such as choking and inability to breathe," the county's Civil Defense Agency said Wednesday. An FBI agent was shot in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to a tweet from the bureau's office in New York.The agent was taken to a local hospital, the tweet said, but the FBI did not provide additional details.Detective Sophia Mason of the New York Police Department confirmed to CNN that an FBI agent was shot, but she wouldn't provide information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the condition of the officer.
