President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme Court to allow him to block critics from his personal Twitter account. The administration said in a high-court filing Thursday that Trump’s @realdonaldtrump account with more than 85 million followers is his personal property and blocking people from it is akin to elected officials who refuse to allow their opponents' yard signs on their front lawns. “President Trump’s ability to use the features of his personal Twitter account, including the blocking function, are independent of his presidential office,” acting Solicitor General Jeffrey Wall wrote in urging the justices to review the case. The federal appeals court in New York ruled last year that Trump uses the account to make daily pronouncements and observations that are overwhelmingly official in nature. It held that Trump violated the First Amendment whenever he blocked a critic to silence a viewpoint.A decision about whether even to hear the case is not likely before the November election. 1012

Political leaders on both sides of the aisle are stressing the importance of wearing masks. That now includes Republicans like Vice President Mike Pence and the governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson. On the Democratic side, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a federal mandate on face coverings is long overdue.Rodica Damian, an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Houston, tells us seeing prominent political figures accept masks will influence individual decisions.Damian says there's two main sources of what drives behavior, personality and social context. Identifying with a certain political group adds social context.“A lot of people who don't wear masks think they're not wearing masks because they're kind of independent thinking, but it's very likely they're also following social norms,” said Damian. “They're just following social norms of a group that thinks you shouldn't wear masks.”When it comes to personality, Damian says people who are more responsible, rule-following, and pro-social tend to wear masks. Those who don't may have higher levels of narcissism or be more impulsive.“We're all on a continuum, so I don't want to put people in categories, so depending on where you fall on that continuum on each of these traits, they're all going to feed into your decision,” said Damian.Damian says we should remember that across the country and across party lines, the majority of people are strongly in favor of wearing masks. 1465

The employee turned over the cash drawer and the man got away with cash.Deputies describe the man as African-American, between 30 and 40 years old, 5’10” to six feet tall, unshaven, and with a medium complexion. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with white lettering and a picture of a marlin fish on the front. Deputies say it may be advertising for a charter fishing boat.Anyone with information leading to an arrest could receive up to ,000 in a reward.Crime Stoppers is asking for tips at 888-580-8477. President Donald Trump argued Friday that trade wars can be good, even though his promise of steel and aluminum tariffs rattled markets."When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win," Trump wrote on Twitter. He added, "Example, when we are down 0 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don't trade anymore-we win big. It's easy!"Trump's plan, announced on Thursday, will impose a 25% tariff on steel imports and 10% tariff on aluminum. The announcement caught investors off guard and immediately raised concerns about retaliation from China or other major US trading partners.   718

President Donald Trump hit back at top House Intelligence Committee Democrat Adam Schiff in an interview Saturday night, dismissing a Democratic memo on FBI surveillance released earlier in the day as "a nothing.""He'll leak all sorts of information. You know, he's a bad guy," Trump said Saturday in an interview on Fox News. "Certainly the memo was a nothing."The House Intelligence Committee released a Democratic memo in redacted form that Schiff wrote as a rebuttal to a Republican memo that accuses the FBI of suppressing Democratic ties to an opposition research dossier on Trump and Russia used in a FISA warrant for former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page.Trump said the Democratic memo "really verifies" the GOP memo."A lot of bad things happened on the other side -- not on this side but on the other side -- and somebody should look into it because what they did is really fraudulent," Trump said of Democrats.  953
