BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Steve Jobs, Apple's co-founder and former CEO, may be one of the great men who will still be influential after their deaths.The new biography of Steve Jobs is likely to be the top-selling book 2011 of Amazon.com Inc, an online book retailer, according to Amazon spokeswoman Brittany Turner Monday."It could very likely be our top-selling book of the year," Turner said in a statement cited by the Reuters.Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson, former Time magazine managing editor, was landed on shelves in bookstores Monday.But its digital version was reported to be released late on Sunday on Apple's iBooks online store and Amazon's Kindle eBook store.Since its release, the biography, both electronic and physical versions, has performed very well in Amazon.It is the best-selling book on Amazon.com and the top-selling electronic book on the Kindle as well. According to the Reuters, Isaacson was asked by Jobs to consider writing a biography for Apple's former CEO in 2004, when Jobs was going to be operated on for pancreatic cancer.Then Isaacson had more than 40 exclusive interviews with Steve Jobs. The last such interview was on October 5, one week before the giant's death.

NANJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has called for the country to maintain confidence that it can weather challenges amid a "complicated and tough" outlook of economic development."As in 2008, we are now encountering difficulties which can be overcome through hard work," Wen said during his tour to eastern Jiangsu province on Sunday and Monday.Elaborating on the grim situation, Wen said the growth of China's exports has been slowing and the pace of the slowdown has accelerated, especially in the past three months. HONG KONG, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Computer and electronic device maker Lenovo, listed in both Hong Kong and New York, has replaced Dell to become the world's second largest personal computer company, Lenovo said Thursday.Lenovo made the remarks in a statement, citing figures released by International Data Corporation (IDC), a global provider of business intelligence for the consumer technology market.Following five quarters as the fastest-growing PC maker among the world's top vendors, the preliminary IDC data reported that Lenovo has achieved record market share of around 13.7 percent and record quarterly shipment volume of some 12.6 million units.Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said his company had surpassed two competitors to capture the No. 2 spot in worldwide PCs in just two quarters and it was the highest rank that Lenovo has achieved in worldwide PC sales.Given current competitive environment, the new achievement positioned Lenovo as a strong challenger to ultimately become the global market leader, Yang said in the statement."We are growing in the enterprise and the consumer space.
