SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Francis Parker School officials say a vendor that handles some of the school's backup data was victim of a ransomware attack in May. The school says third-party cloud computing provider, Blackbaud, Inc., notified them on July 16 of the cyberattack. Criminals demanded payment in return for destroying information they copied from Blackbaud's database, the school said.School officials warned parents that the compromised database may have included contact information, birth dates, and a history of relationships with the school, including donation dates and amounts. The school said the attackers did not access credit card information, social security, or other personal financial information and had no access to the school's systems.Blackbaud paid the ransomware and says based on the nature of the incident and investigations with law enforcement, there's no reason to believe any data went beyond the cybercriminals or was, or will be, misused.Francis Parker officials said they are reevaluating their relationship with Blackbaud. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect of a College Area bank robbery Wednesday.The suspect walked into Citibank at 5998 El Cajon Blvd. just after 3 p.m., approached a teller, and verbally demanded cash, according to the FBI.After receiving a sum of cash, the suspect fled on foot.The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s, with large build and standing about 5-foot 6-inches. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, sunglasses, gloves, tennis shoes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Home sales in San Diego are starting to see a dramatic decrease, according to a new report by CoreLogic.Year-to-year, home sales fell nearly 18 percent from September of 2017 to September of 2018. From August to September of this year, home sales fell nearly 22 percent. Since 1988, the average change in sales between August and September is only 9.8 percent.“The nearly 18 percent year-over-year drop in Southern California home sales this September was the largest for any month in almost eight years,” said Andrew LePage, a CoreLogic analyst.Also in September, sales of newly-built homes in Southern California were 46.6 percent below the September average since 1988.The drop in home sales is due to higher prices and rising mortgage rates, according to CoreLogic. Those factors are pricing out some would-be buyers and prompting others to wait and see what happens with the housing market.The median home price in San Diego County in September of 2018 was 5,000, up nearly eight percent from the same time last year, however, the median price fell by 1.4 percent from August to September of 2018.“Price growth is moderating amid slower sales and more listings in many markets,” LePage said. “This is welcome news for potential homebuyers, but many still face a daunting hurdle – the monthly mortgage payment, which has been pushed up sharply by rising mortgage rates.” 1405

According to officials with the Workforce Partnership, walk-ins won’t be accepted, however some services will be available by appointment only.“Our resources have always been available online, and actually the number one way people file for unemployment in or out of a public health emergency is online,” said Andrew Picard, chief program Officer at the San Diego Workforce Partnership.Picard said if people don't have a computer or internet access, don't worry, the phone still works. Career agents and advisors with the organization can walk you through a job search or the unemployment process.“We have teams of career agents and advisors standing by over the phone and with online tools to do virtual meetings,” Picard said. “A great deal of resources and programs that are still in operation and still available to the community.”Unemployment assistance isn’t just for people who recently lost their job.According to the Employment Development Department, “You are encouraged to apply for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits if you are unemployed, which includes reasons such as, your hours are reduced due to the quarantine, you were separated from your employer during the quarantine, you are subject to a quarantine required by a medical professional or state or local health officer.”Last week Governor Gavin Newsom sped up the time it takes to get financial assistance.
