A visitor to Yellowstone National Park was injured by a grizzly bear while hiking near Old Faithful on Monday.According to a park press release, the 37-year-old woman from Missouri was hiking alone on the Fairy Falls Trail when she encountered two grizzly bears "at very close range."One of the bears knocked the woman down, and she suffered a scratch on her thigh. The woman also received minor injuries to her face from the fall. She declined medical attention.The park said the woman attempted to use bear spray during the encounter."From the injured person's statements, this appears to be a typical case of a mother grizzly bear protecting her offspring following a close-range encounter," said Kerry Gunther, a bear management biologist. "Because this bear was displaying natural protective behavior for its cub, no action will be taken against the bear. Several trails in the area will be closed to give the grizzly family group time to clear from the area."Monday's incident marks the first time a bear has injured a visitor in Yellowstone in 2020. The last time a bear injured a visitor in the park was in June 2019 when a black bear bit into an occupied tent and bruised a woman's thigh.Following the incident, the Fairy Falls Trail was cleared of hikers. A Mississippi school district has apologized and a high school band director has been suspended after the band staged a halftime skit that depicted police being held at gunpoint.The controversial skit came as the Forest Hill High School band from Jackson performed Friday during a football game against Brookhaven High School to the south. It shocked many at the game in Brookhaven, where just six days earlier two police officers were killed in a shootout with a suspect."I was sad because of what happened last weekend, and it felt like they were making fun of it," Sarah McDonald, a Brookhaven High School student, told CNN affiliate WJTV.A woman who said she was a graduate of Brookhaven High School found the performance insensitive."I was shocked by the halftime performance just because of everything that our community is going through," the woman told CNN affiliate WLBT. "No disrespect to Forest Hill, when they decided to do a performance, they should've took that into consideration that we were already going through a lot at this time. A trip to "The Happiest Place On Earth" turned into a nightmare, according to an Inland Empire woman who spent two nights at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Ivy Eldridge was a guest at the hotel back in April, when she claims she was bitten by bed bugs, suffering physical, financial and emotional damages, according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Eldridge has hired attorney Brian Virag, who specializes in bedbug litigation, to bring a lawsuit against the hotel, along with the Walt Disney Co. and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Virag claims that Eldridge was bitten all over her upper body, including her face, ears, arm, neck and back. "People put trust in the Disney name and pay top dollar to stay at the Disneyland Hotel," Virag said. "In this case, Ms. Eldridge's trust was betrayed." Virag is also currently representing Victoria's Secret model Sabrina Jales St. Pierre, in a bed bug related lawsuit being brought against Embassy Suites Palm Desert. "Bed bugs don't discriminate," Virag said. "They are found in hotels throughout the country and worldwide.
