A lockdown at the Cleveland Clinic – Medina Hospital in northeast Ohio has been lifted after reports of a woman threatening others with a firearm inside the hospital, according to police.Medina police posted on Facebook Tuesday afternoon that no shots had been fired. Police secured the hospital and searched the building floor by floor but did not find a woman with a gun.Police tell reporters with Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland that they believe the call prompting the lockdown was a hoax.Earlier on Tuesday, a "Code Silver" alert was sent to hospital staff indicating that there was an active shooter situation."Take immediate action to protect yourselves and others," the alert said. Lt. A candidate for a seat in the House of Representatives in Maine has apologized after taking to Twitter to attack a student activist in Parkland.Leslie Gibson, a Republican, originally tweeted "There is nothing about this skinhead lesbian that impresses me and there is nothing that she has to say unless you're frothing at the mouth moonbat." Gibson wrote this about 18-year-old Emma Gonzalez.Gonzalez has been at the forefront of those speaking out following a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14, 2018 in Parkland, Florida. She is leading the fight to make assault rifles harder to obtain.The candidate's attack tweets were deleted, and Gibson tweeted an apology, saying, "You are doing work that is important to you. I would like to extend my hand in friendship and to understand you."Gibson had been running unopposed for the seat in the 57th District in Maine. The Sun Journal reports Democrat Eryn Gilchrist, a 28-year-old Connecticut native now living in Maine, filed paperwork after the comments were made and there was a push for someone to run against Gibson.The seat is now contested, the Sun Journal reports.It appears Gibson has since removed the Twitter account, @LeslieEGibson2, and those discussing the situation on Twitter are using a hashtag, #LeslieEGibson. 1358

A Charlotte County, Florida mom was arrested Wednesday morning after she accidentally ran into her son in the drop-off area of the Port Charlotte High School parking lot.According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, 49-year-old Nadine Williams has a suspended license and gave false identification at the scene.  Williams' son was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.Deputies said they found Williams had a suspension for unpaid traffic fines and a failure to maintain insurance. They also said they found a citation for driving without a license just days before the incident Wednesday morning. When deputies asked her about the suspension, they said she told them she knew she was suspended, but she had to drive because it wasn't "like I'm murdering or raping."  815

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southeastern Mexico on Friday night, with the epicenter in the state of Oaxaca, the US Geological Survey reported.An earthquake alert was issued in Mexico City, about 348 kilometers (216 miles) away from the center of the earthquake.
