SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Barrio Logan College Institute is moving into a newer, bigger location, thanks to the generosity of an area businessman.Nicholas Aguilera, who's father started Diego and Son Printing in 1972, is letting the BLCI lease the company's old building for 20 years, with an option to buy."I think it's awesome, it's fantastic," Aguilera says. "I think my dad would be very, very happy and proud."Aguilera says his father always wanted the business to be part of the community. Turning it's original location into an educational site fits with Diego's vision and passion for improving the Barrio."I see a future for our students," says BLCI Interim CEO Barbara Ybarra.The Institute works with kids from the 3rd grade through high school. It helps mentor them as they try to become the first person in their family to go to college. Ybarra says 100% of the students that complete the program go to college.The new building will allow the BLCI to serve even more students."These upgrades are going to help them compete technologically with the other students they're competing against to get into college," says Ybarra.She also says there's symmetry in taking over the old printing building."Diego used to print notebooks and pads of paper for the students to use and take to school," she says. "I see it coming full circle. It's a great legacy for their family."The BLCI is trying to raise .5 million to buy the building. So far they've been able to secure .1 million in donations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a YouTube star who drove his McLaren the wrong way on the 805 last year, killing a mom and her daughter, are suing the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, and the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).The lawsuit claims the “horrific and tragic event” was entirely preventable.Eighteen-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet, drove his McLaren the wrong way on the freeway in August 2018, killing Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Teenage cancer survivors from Rady Chidlren's Hospital celebrated an "unforgettable" event.The annual Unforgettable Prom brought teens battling cancer out for a night of dancing and celebration — a night many of the teens miss at school while they continue to fight illness. Now in its 13th year, the dance has helped teens take a moment to celebrate that special night in every teenager's life. And everything is covered: From dresses and tuxedos to entertainment, food, and decor, thanks to volunteers and the Friends of Scott Foundation, a local non-profit that works to provide emotional and financial support for children with cancer and their families.This year's theme, Avengers "Age of Heroes," honors Ryan Wilcox, a former patient and Unforgettable Prom King, who lost hist battle with cancer. "Unforgettable Prom" was started by Carmen Delgadillo, founder of the Friends of Scott Foundation. Degadillo lost her teenage son, Scott, to Acute Lymphostic Leukemia. From that loss, Delgadillo started the foundation to help other families in need of support during their own battles with cancer. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Coronado Police Department released an image Monday of a vehicle that may be related to BB gun incidents in Coronado Sunday. 10news has learned five people were struck in the downtown area. Police spent the morning scouring the ground near State Street and West Broadway. An officer told 10news four people were crossing State Street late Saturday night or early Sunday evening when three of them were hit. The extent of their injuries are unknown. At the corner of L Street and Sixth Avenue in the East Village, a woman was shot in the arm early Sunday morning, according to San Diego Police. She was walking in a small group and one of the men was an exhibitor at Comic Con, staying at the Omni Hotel, where they were headed before the shooting. The early morning shooting was not the only one that occurred overnight. In National City and Paradise Hills, at least a dozen cars were hit, and in Coronado, police said at least 23 businesses, homes an cars were struck by BBs.10news brought the image of a white sedan released by Coronado Police to Roman Beck, who has worked as an accident reconstruction expert for two decades."I believe it's a 2005 to 2010 Chrysler 300 sedan.
