SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A hiker who thought he discovered a puppy along a San Diego trail in March actually ended up taking in a coyote pup.San Diego Humane Society said the man was walking his dog on March 22 in Tierrasanta when he thought he had discovered an abandoned puppy. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A reward was offered Tuesday to find a woman suspected of opening several credit card accounts at stores in Lemon Grove and College Grove with a stolen identity.The crime spree started July 12, according to San Diego County Crime Stoppers. The woman successfully opened accounts at several stores but failed on other attempts.More than ,000 was charged before the accounts were closed.The victim contacted the San Diego Police Department upon learning the accounts were being opened. He or she did not know how the suspect gained access to private information.Investigators say the woman is African-American, blonde, and between 25 and 35 years old.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego Fire-Rescue chaplain found himself in need after flames ripped through his apartment in Old Town.Father David Fucci was with a friend last Thursday night when he got a call."My neighbor calls and says, 'Your apartment is on fire'," said Father Fucci.As he raced home, a mix of feelings washed over him. For about seven years, he's served as a volunteer chaplain, consoling victims during tragedy."That night, it felt surreal. Almost like an out-of-body experience. Normally I'm the one driving to the scene, thinking about what I can say," said Father Fucci.Instead, he could only watch as flames claimed his home. "Just kept thinking, don't let it spread to any other apartments and thankfully, it didn't," said Father Fucci.Then, something remarkable happened. As word spread of whose apartment it was, some familiar faces began appearing, including five other volunteer chaplains and a battalion chief."They took the time to put a hand on my shoulders. I knew I was blessed," said Father Fucci.Father Fucci found himself the person receiving comfort. "Sometimes those that give, it's hard to receive ... the compassion, love and help. You learn to let go," said Father Fucci.In the end, the apartment was declared a total loss. Amid the ashes, Father Fucci found something that survived."I found a picture of Mom and Dad. Last picture of them. They died a year later," said Father Fucci.He also discovered something else. He calls it a blessing born from his loss: a perspective that will allow him to better help others at the next scene."Now you have a greater understanding of what they need," said Father Fucci.Father Fucci did not have renters insurance. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Malayasian national faces voyeurism charges after a video camera was discovered in the bathroom of a San Diego flight last May.Choon Ping Lee was arrested this week and charged with video voyeurism within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States, ABC-affiliate KTRK reported.Court documents revealed on May 5, a passenger on United Airlines flight 646 from San Diego to Houston discovered a blue light flashing in a first-class bathroom. The woman took the device to the flight crew, who in turn brought it to officials at George Bush International Airport.Security at the airport confirmed the device was a video recording device, KTRK reported. Officials reviewed the device's footage to discover it recorded a man installing it in the bathroom, documents say. Airport surveillance connected the man's clothing with footage of him boarding the plane on departure and leaving when it arrived in Texas.Investigators said they also found footage on the device from another flight, where at least two women were captured on camera aboard an Emirates flight.Lee also works for Halliburton, which provided FBI investigators with Lee's travel itinerary and footage of him wearing the same jewelry as seen in surveillance video as well, documents revealed.The company issued a statement to KTRK, reading: "Halliburton is aware of the situation and is cooperating with the FBI and U.S. Attorney's office in their investigation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A North Park family is appealing for tips after a former high school football star - and recent college graduate - was injured in a drive-by shooting."They thought it was fireworks at first," said Dawn Kinder.Sisters Denisha Montgomery and Dawn Kinder say two Fridays ago, their brother Devante Kinder, 24, and three friends had spent a day at the beach and were driving up to his driveway near Meade Ave. around 9:40 p.m. Devante was at the wheel of the used Mercedes SUV he had saved up to purchase, when neighbors heard about nine shots ring out, and a car drive away. Devante was shot twice in the face."The only thing he could think of was to save his life, and he drove himself to the hospital," said Montgomery.Soon after, his sisters got the news."Unreal and didn't believe it at first actually. There is no way he could be injured in this way," said Montgomery.One of the bullet entered Devante's neck, shattered his cheekbone and lodged in his sinus cavity. The other one grazed his cheekbone."He's devastated ... asking himself why it was him," said Montgomery.His sisters say Devante does not have any enemies. Devante, a football standout at Mission Bay High School, went on to graduate from San Jose State six months ago. He returned home and recently got hired for engineering position in March."Starting his career, saving money. All he could talk about was buying his own condo," said Montgomery.Those plans have been put on pause by the drive-by shooting. Amid a national dialogue on racial injustice, Devante's sisters say they know many families impacted by violence."It's something that shouldn't be happening.
