SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An unlicensed Coronado dentist accused of taking local patients to Tijuana for dental implants pled guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday.Robert Mansueto faced more than 20 charges when the trial over his practices began. Wednesday, he pled guilty to two felony counts and three misdemeanor counts, including unlicensed dentistry with risk of bodily harm, grand theft, and practicing of dentistry under a false name.Mansueto's lawyer told Team 10 they viewed the plea as a victory, saying this resolves the case for what they argue actually occurred.TEAM 10 COVERAGE: 647

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A second person has died from the flu in San Diego County so far this season, according to the County Health and Human Services Agency.The agency said the 100-year-old woman who died on October 19 had underlying medical conditions.“Influenza can lead to serious complications and even death, especially among the elderly,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer.A total of 316 cases of the flu have been reported so far this season in San Diego County. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An Ocean Beach man was injured after two men stormed his home, beat him, and robbed him.Police say the 34-year-old victim was at his home on Cape May Ave. with a woman, possibly an ex-girlfriend, when there was a knock at the door at about 10 p.m.The woman answered the door and two men forced their way inside, one wielding an expandable baton and the other with a knife, police said.A struggle began between the victim and two suspects and the two men beat the victim several times, before ordering him to open a safe.After the suspect was unable to open the safe, the suspects rummaged through the home and stole several items, including credit cards. The two men then fled.The woman fled shortly after as well.The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.Police described the suspect with a baton as a 20- to 25-year-old white male, 5-foot 10-inches, with thin build. He was wearing dark clothing and may have had his face painted black, police added. The man with the knife was described as a 25- to 30-year-old Hispanic man, 6-feet tall, weighing about 220 pounds, and wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An SDG&E outage knocked out power to hundreds of South Bay customers Friday, including a money exchange operator whose backup generator may have contributed to a health crisis.According to SDG&E, about 703 customers in the areas of San Ysidro and Otay Mesa were affected by the outage that began at about 6:40 a.m. Service was supposed to be restored by 10:30 a.m., but that was pushed back to 12 p.m.Two people became ill and were taken to the hospital from a money exchange business using a power generator.According to SDG&E, a substation experienced a technical issue in which a capacitator failed. Crews had to go in a repair the substation before power could be restored. 716

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A third family member has died following a house fire in Logan Heights early Sunday morning. According to a family member and a GoFundMe page set up for the family, the 21-year-old, identified only as Iris, died Tuesday. On Monday, the family’s oldest son told 10News his mother and father, who he identified as Nicolasa Mayo and Jose Romero, were killed in the fire. The 26-year-old said he awoke Sunday morning to find his bed on fire. The man told 10News he tried yelling at his family to get out of the home."My dogs were jumping on me, trying to wake me up. I woke up. When I woke up, my bed was on fire. I jumped out of bed and started screaming the house is on fire," said Wilber Romero.The fire started around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of Clay Street."The minute I stepped out of my restroom, my house on the inside felt warm, like really warm. The curtain was open and I looked across the neighbors house was just bursting in flames," said Maria Orona, who lives nearby.According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, firefighters had to go inside the home to pull many of the victims out.One witness who was nearby when the fire started told 10News he could see one of the victims reaching through bars in the windows, unable to escape.At this time, it’s unclear what sparked the fire, but the metro arson strike team was called to the home to investigate. 1406
