A mural of George Floyd in Salt Lake City, Utah, had black tar thrown on it over the weekend. This is the second time the mural has been defaced, a week after the first vandalism. Police confirmed they are investigating the vandalism and whether it constitutes a hate crime under Utah's new law. As of Monday afternoon, the mural was restored by local artists. The pop art-style mural of Floyd's face was painted by anonymous artists, and has become a makeshift memorial alongside images of others who have been killed by police. Floyd was killed by police in Minneapolis last month after an officer held him down with a knee on Floyd's neck for more than 8 minutes. Floyd is Black, the officer involved is white. A typical delivery turned into a personal moment for one Michigan military family and an Amazon delivery driver.Amanda LeCureaux of New Baltimore, Michigan says she received a notification on her phone from her smart doorbell about an incoming delivery on Dec. 12 and turned on the camera to see what was coming.“I started to play it…and it showed him saluting, and I was like, ‘oh my gosh,’” LeCureaux said.The delivery driver dropped off a package, stepped back from the porch and saluted the house before leaving.The reason for the salute? A police union representing officers with the Rochester Police Department claimed Friday that the video of Daniel Prude's arrest that was released by the department was "not complete" and "not accurate."Michael D. Mazzeo, the president of the Rochester Police Locust Club, did not get into specifics as to what was missing from the version of the video released by the Rochester Police Department on Wednesday, citing that an investigation was ongoing.Mazzeo also said that the officers' use of a "spit hood" was within department protocols and consistent with their training, adding that officers had gone through mandated state training between 30 and 40 days prior to the incident.He he added that Prude had made references to have tested positive for coronavirus during the incident.He also called for the New York Attorney General to conduct an "impartial" and "transparent" investigation.Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren suspended seven officers Thursday after video was released that showed officers shoving Prude's head into the ground for about two minutes after finding him naked and bleeding in the street. Prude died a week later after he was taken off life support.Prude's family said he was in the midst of a mental health crisis at the time of the incident.Mazzeo also claimed that one of the suspended officers was not even involved in the Prude incident and called for the city's "law department" to be held accountable for what he described as mistakes in their investigation.He said the Locust Club was not involved in the internal investigation into the incident until Wednesday and was not aware ahead of time that the seven officers would be suspended. A Michigan lawmaker has been removed from her committee assignments after telling Trump supporters to "tread lightly" in a since-deleted video on Facebook.The comments by State Rep. Cynthia Johnson, a Democrat representing Detroit, came days after she made national headlines by sharing threatening voicemails calling for her to be lynched. The caller was upset with Johnson's actions in a hearing with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was seeking to overturn the results of the presidential election in the state. On Tuesday evening, Johnson posted a three-minute video to Facebook that concluded with language that Trump supporters took as a direct threat."So, this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough," Johnson said. "And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. A Solon man was conned out of 0 earlier this month after a scammer told him he was holding his father hostage with a gun to his head.According to a Solon police report, the 22-year-old victim thought the scam was real because the caller knew his name.The scammer told the victim to go to the nearest Walmart and wire the money to a person in Puerto Rico or his father would be killed. The victim, who was in Pennsylvania at the time, drove to the nearest Walmart and sent the money as requested. He paid a total of 1.50 for the transaction, including the service fee.The victim told police the whole ordeal lasted around five hours.
