(KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department is launching its "bait bike" program in Point Loma and Ocean Beach after its success in Pacific Beach.The program outfits bikes with GPS devices that notify officers when a bike is being stolen. According to AAA, most travelers book flights for Thanksgiving between September 25 and October 27 and between October 26 and November 27 for Christmas “Holiday travelers should make their plans now and begin booking their flights for Thanksgiving and Christmas as early as Wednesday, Sept. 25 for the best deals and availability,” said Paula Twidale, vice president, AAA Travel. Thanksgiving TravelAAA says this year, travelers can find some of the best pricing sever to 13 days before Thanksgiving, between November 11 and 17. The site says, however, that limited availability makes seats hard to come by at the discounted rates. Flying Monday of Thanksgiving week is the best option with the lowest average ticket price, according to AAA. Christmas TravelFor Christmas, AAA found that booking flights between 61 to 90 days before the holiday, or between September 26 and October 27, is best. Last-minute Christmas travelers can find the best pricing between seven to 13 days before the holiday, according to AAA. However, much like Thanksgiving, availability is likely to be limited. “Procrastinating travelers may be able to find last-minute deals on flights close to the holidays, as airlines look to fill their last few remaining seats, but flight availability for these peak travel weeks will be very limited by that time," Twidale continued. 1492

A 14-year-old from Port Huron, Michigan has been arrested in connection to a threatening comment made on the Instagram account of New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman.According to a New York Times article, Edelman received a comment on an Instagram post late last month saying: "I'm going to shoot my school up watch the news."The New York Times reports that Edelman's assistant called 911 and police determined the sender's email and IP address was traced to Port Huron.The teen was brought in for questioning and admitted to making the threat. He was arrested and charged with making a false report of a threat of terrorism, a four-year felony in Michigan. Police say a search of his home turned up two rifles that belonged to the teen's mother. Port Huron detectives credited Edelman with bringing the threat forward.  857

(KGTV) - Residents in a Rancho Pe?asquitos neighborhood say they are frustrated at the delays keeping a popular community park closed. 10News has uncovered that a key error by a contractor hired by the city is at least partly responsible for the park remaining closed past its scheduled reopening date.When 10News visited Rollings Hills Park Wednesday afternoon it was empty, with the exception of one man walking his dog on the outfield of the park's baseball diamond, the only portion of the park still available to the public. "Normally you'd expect this thing to be fairly packed," said Rick McElroy, who lives across the street.The ,500,000 renovation project began in August, 2018 with Mayor Kevin Faulconer and Councilmember Mark Kersey attending a ceremonial groundbreaking. The park will eventually have two new playgrounds, a rubber surface, and water fountains. Part of the money to pay for the project was raised by community members.A sign posted on the fence currently surrounding the park indicated that work would be done by Spring, 2019. It was previously reported that a source told 10News the contractor made a mistake while working on the park's draining system, which needed to be redone. But city officials say that's not the case.Alec Phillipp, a spokesperson with the City of San Diego, told 10News that the city may be responsible for the delay. The project had to be redesigned after discovering that the location of an existing underground draining system was not where crews anticipated. The city provided the plans to the contractor, which did not accurately map the draining system.Residents also cited other issues they have witnessed, including an accidental spill of sod for the park into the fence."I travel all over the world as part of my job and I get to see how construction is done," says McElroy. "And in other places, they've probably built skyscrapers in the amount of time it's taken us to revamp the park."10News contacted the City to ask how long the reopening will be delayed and whether the cost for the delay will be paid for by taxpayers.A City spokesperson responded that they would look into it. 2352
