(KGTV) — The number of troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border will decrease from 5,600 to about 4,000 troops and their deployment will be extended into January, according to the Associated Press.The AP, citing U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity, said a formal request submitted by the Department of Homeland Security Friday requested the additional support. The request has yet to be approved by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, though military officials have been working with DHS to help develop the request, the AP reports.Troops were deployed by President Donald Trump in response to a migrant caravan from Central America. A "very bizarre" car crash in Canada resulted in the arrests of five people who were found naked after the collision.On Monday, officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and pickup truck in Nisku, Alberta, according to CBC News.At the scene, officers arrested three adults and two "youths." All five were naked when police caught them, according to the Edmonton Journal.The crash apparently happened after police said the suspects kidnapped three people — a man, a woman and an infant — from a home and forced them into the car. The man, who was apparently locked in the car's trunk, managed to escape the moving vehicle and flag down a man driving a pickup truck.CBC reported that the passerby managed to get all three kidnapping victims into his truck and was driving them away when he was rammed by the suspects, which forced his truck into a ditch.None of the victims were injured in the ordeal.The kidnapping suspects have not been named and it's unclear why they were naked at the scene of the crash. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigator described the incident as "very bizarre" to The Guardian.The two underage suspects were released without charges. (KSTU) -- A woman who disappeared in Utah's Zion National Park before being found 12 days later is reportedly being investigated for fraud in connection to her disappearance.The Salt Lake Tribune reported the Washington County Sheriff's Office is looking into Holly Courtier's story after accounts of her rescue and how she survived with no food or water raised questions within the department.In the days following the rescue, Courtier's daughter -- who lives in San Diego -- said her mother hit her head and became disoriented in the park; while her sister, Jaime Strong, said Holly never drank from a nearby river because it was possibly toxic.Hearing the accounts after Courtier was able to leave Zion National Park with minimal assistance raised red flags to officials, according to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office."These inconsistencies raised some questions as to the authenticity of the events as reported to law enforcement," said Sheriff Cory C. (KGTV) - San Diegans looking to find a new job - or get a better one - will soon have a new resource to help them get there. Goodwill Industries San Diego is finishing a more than 4,000 square-foot job training center in San Ysidro, which it plans to open Sept. 13. The 0,000 facility is replacing the organization's rack store at 630 Front St. in San Ysidro, which moved to a new location. The center will offer free career counseling, meeting spaces for interviews, open computers, and even job fairs - all free to San Diegans looking for work, or a bigger paycheck. RELATED: California is the sixth-worst state for retirement."So even if they get a job, that job that just puts food on the table, we want them to continue to come to us so that we can support them, so they can get that better job," said Toni Giffin, CEO of Goodwill Industries of San Diego County. The state reports that there are still about 58,000 San Diegans who are unemployed, even with the jobless rate near a record low of 3.7 percent. That number does not include San Diegans who would like more hours, or whose jobs don't pay enough to make ends meet. Ken Joy, 75, is currently living with his sister in La Mesa.
