As businesses across the country deal with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Country Time Lemonade is making sure the country's "littlest entrepreneurs" get the same help.The Littlest Bailout is an economic relief program aimed at helping kids start lemonade stands. Kids who are 14 and younger can get a 0 "stimulus check," which comes in the form of a prepaid card.Country Time says the money is to help kids "preserve the values of lemonade stands, honest work, and entrepreneurship."To apply, parents must upload an essay, 250 words or less, that answers the question, "How would your child use their stimulus check to juice the economy?"Parents must also upload a picture of the lemonade stand sign their child/children were going to use. The limit is one entry per household.According to the official rules, the company plans to give out 1,000 of the prepaid cards.There is no purchase necessary and the program ends on Aug. 12. An engine on a Southwest Airlines plane caught fire Monday morning during a flight, forcing the aircraft to return safely to the Salt Lake City airport shortly after takeoff, CNN affiliate KUTV reported.The flight's pilots, who were en route to Los Angeles, conducted an emergency landing, said Nancy Volmer, a Salt Lake City International Airport spokeswoman, the station reported.Passenger Crystal Bangerter was taking her first flight ever when she saw "huge flames just coming right out of the engine."  520

ANDERSON, Ind. — A convicted killer already serving two life sentences without parole and accused of killing a fellow prisoner last summer told a Madison County judge this week he will keep killing people until he's given the death penalty.Tommy Holland, 45, made the statement Tuesday during a hearing in Madison Circuit Court. Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said Holland had been expected to plead guilty to the Aug. 9, 2019 stabbing death of Clifford Bagget, 28. In exchange for the plea, Holland was expected to receive his third life sentence, Cummings said.The stabbing happened inside the Pendleton Correctional Facility. Holland was serving two life sentences for murder out of Marion County. Bagget, of Florida, was serving time for aggravated battery, battery, and possession of methamphetamine, according to court records.Instead, the scene inside the Madison County courtroom was much different."His lawyer said [Holland] wanted to make a statement and that it was coming against the advice of counsel," Cummings said. "What he basically said was, if you don't give me the death penalty I'm going to keep killing people until you give it to me."The hearing did not proceed with the entering of a guilty plea. Instead, the judge ordered Holland to undergo a competency evaluation.Cummings said he will consider the unusual request but there are other factors under consideration as well."I don't want to waste taxpayer money," Cummings said.In addition, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago has not upheld a death penalty sentence brought to them on appeal in 11 years so the likelihood of a sentence of death being carried out against Holland is slim, Cummings said.Holland is currently being housed in segregation at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Cummings said. (AP) — Fed up with dog poop being left around, board members at a Maryland condominium complex are now relying on DNA samples to police unscooped feces.Jeanne Fisher, the general manager for The Residence at Park Place Condominium, tells The Capital newspaper that she came across "doggie DNA" as an option when residents began complaining about unscooped poop.The Annapolis complex had tried emails, dog meetings, fines and a security camera in the dog park.The condo association spent about ,500 on pet DNA kits and about 20 owners began providing samples. Fisher says a sample is taken if someone hasn't cleaned up after their pet.If matched, a fine will be levied along with about in costs if the association decides to send a specimen to a lab for testing. 790

ANAHEIM (CNS) - Disney officials informed Anaheim Wednesday that they have canceled plans for a 700-room luxury hotel at Disneyland Resort in light of the city's decision to scrub tax-incentive deals for the project.The Anaheim City Council voted Aug. 28 to cancel the tax-incentive deals because the project had changed over time, including a new location.
