(KGTV) — Two brothers are behind bars after deputies say they got into a road rage incident and robbed a driver in Vista.On Tuesday, just before 9:30 a.m. near the 1300 block of Melrose Way, San Diego Sheriff's Department says Matthew, 29, and John, 23, Giordano were driving in a lifted grey Silverado pick-up truck. Deputies say for some reason, Matthew became angry and began to follow another vehicle and displayed a weapon to the driver.At one point, the truck cut off the driver and came to a stop, deputies say.Deputies said Matthew got out of his truck and started punching the driver's side window. Once the driver opened the door, Matthew took about ,000 worth of jewelry and money from the driver, deputies added.During the confrontation, John used a metal tool to smash the driver's windshield and the windshield of a second car not involved in the original incident, deputies say. The brothers then drove off.One of the victims suffered minor injuries from broken glass. Virginia Beach Police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured two people early Sunday morning.Officers were alerted to multiple shots fired in the area around 12:45 a.m. A woman was located and suffering from a life-threatening wound. Medics treated the woman and took her to the hospital.A few minutes later at 12:48 a.m., officers received word that a victim with life-threatening injuries was located in several blocks away. EMS treated and took the victim to the hospital for further treatment.A possible suspect has been detained and the investigation is ongoing.Prior to this shooting, police responded to another shooting at the 1900 block of the Boardwalk. A woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident.There is an increased police presence throughout the oceanfront area due to College Beach Weekend. Problems with violence in past years have caused some to be critical of the event. (KGTV) - Two Sheriff's deputies are under an internal review after video surfaced of an arrest in the North County this week.A 911 call was made Monday from a woman on Madera Lane, who said she was a domestic violence victim and being held against her will, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Deputies responded and said they ultimately arrested Gerardo Martinez Jr., 23, and 50-year-old Gerardo Martinez Sr.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodThe younger was booked on charges including false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, and disobeying a court order. SDSO charged Martinez Sr. with obstructing a public officer and removing someone from the lawful custody of a peace officer, though he has bailed out of custody.Video of the arrest, however, soon landed at least two deputies involved with the arrest in hot water.The footage posted on social media showed one of the men being led away in handcuffs before a deputy appears to shove him into a fence. The man's face is slammed into the wooden fence before the deputy leads him away.At the same time, four other deputies hold the second man to the ground, one of them appears to repeatedly strike the man in the head. It isn't clear if the man on the ground was also handcuffed or whether the deputy struck the man with a closed fist or open hand.Two deputies have been placed on administrative assignment, pending an internal investigation, SDSO said Wednesday.
