Through a Kickstarter campaign and bake sales, Berton and her students raised more than ,000 for the machine - and a film."We never thought it would be an Oscar-nominated film, but the idea was always, if we could just make an educational film to raise awareness about this issue then that would be the jewel of the nonprofit," said Berton, who is the film's Executive Producer.The film was put on the film festival circuit, receiving award after award. On Sunday night, expect the film's biggest cheering section to be in San Diego."It really wasn't really for herself. It was for others and that's what make me most proud of her ... It will be a thrilling night no matter what happens, especially so if she wins the Oscar," said Berton.The film has received some Hollywood backing. Tyler Glenn, lead singer of the popular band Neon Trees, is recovering after suffering a stroke last week.In a post to Instagram on Monday, Glenn, 36, said that he woke up Thursday feeling "foggy and not seeing clearly out of my right eye."Glenn wrote that he held off going to the hospital to see if his condition would improve, but visited an ophthalmologist when he woke up the next morning feeling the same way.The doctor found a retinal edema in Glenn's eye and told him he had suffered a stroke. Glenn was admitted to Intermountain Medical Center for cardiology and neurological tests."I’m quite freaked out being 36, ostensibly healthy and having this happen." said Glenn. Twitter rolled out a 280 character limit for most of its users Tuesday, and, predictably, lots of people are unhappy.That doubles the original 140 character limit that Twitter has maintained since it launched in 2006.Twitter began testing longer tweets in late September, and found that once the novelty of tweeting longer wore off, most people in the test group didn't use all of the available characters. According to the company, only 5% of tweets sent by people in the 280-character test group were longer than 140 characters, and just 2% were over 190 characters.Many users complained about the initial tests. Now that just about everyone's got 280 characters to work with, more people say they're frustrated or confused by the decision. Others are using new characters to make jokes. Other people were curious about how the new parameters will change the way people interact on the platform.The big question on everyone's mind is how President Donald Trump, an avid Twitter user, will use the expanded space. The president tweeted two messages Tuesday that went beyond the old 140 character limit.But another Trump doesn't appear to like the change.
