"And then my wife said, 'Oh that's a cool Christmas gift for me too!'"The couple bought their bikes at target.com. Delacruz's fit perfectly, but his wife's did not."When she tried it on, it was kind of a little big for her," Delacruz said. "So we have to return it."The pandemic has caused a surge in online shoppers, a saving grace for retailers. But not being able to touch and feel the products means there have been a record-setting number of returns. Experts say returns will cost companies more than billion this holiday season. But retailers have managed to make the return process much easier, many places not even requiring receipts."We do have a Target card, and they can trace it from there, so we didn't have to worry about that," Delacruz said.Delacruz says now they are at the store to return what didn't fit and replace it with one that does."We're probably going to look for another bike today," Delacruz said.According to the 2020 Deloitte Holiday Retail Survey, 45% of shoppers prefer the "buy online, return in-store or curbside" service. 1732

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- When entering most newly reopened businesses in San Diego County, customers will need to sign in with their name and phone number.The change only applies to businesses now offering indoor services; the county’s public health order was updated to reflect the changes now in effect for the following sectors:Hair Salons & BarbershopsPersonal Care ServicesGyms & Fitness CentersRestaurants, Wineries, Bars, Breweries, and Distilleries that serve food.“It’s a very modest step that can aide in our close contact investigation, and I think can help slow the spread and help these businesses stay open,” said County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher.Many people already give their name and phone number when making a reservation at a restaurant or booking a hair appointment; this won’t look much different, just more widespread, and businesses will also keep the sign-in sheets for three weeks.“In the event, there is an outbreak or exposure, I think most people would want to know if they’ve been exposed so they can quarantine or potentially get tested,” said Fletcher.If a COVID-19 outbreak happens, customers who visited will be notified if they were possibly exposed. The county will not collect or save the information.“It would only be used in the event there was a public health risk,” said Fletcher.Fletcher said the new plan could have possibly helped with contact tracing during the last wave or reopenings.“It’s certainly something we could have been done before, maybe a lesson learned from earlier, I think this could really aide in helping more quickly in letting folks know if they’ve been exposed," Fletcher said.Some people may have privacy concerns and be reluctant to give their personal information.Cybersecurity expert Ted Harrington, who is an executive partner at Independent Security Evaluators, says that while giving an email address would feel less invasive, the risk of providing a phone number and name is still minimal.“There’s no doubt what this order is doing is giving more information for people who don’t yet have a process to safely protect it, so we should accept that is the reality of what’s happening,” said Harrington. “But, is that a strong enough reason to not go to a restaurant or get your haircut or whatever? Cousins Judith Louise-Worachek and Cathie Ray say the abuse happened decades ago while attending school at St. Jude in Southcrest.Each alleges they were abused multiple times by Priest Gregory Sheridan, who is named on a Diocese of San Diego list of priests with credible allegations against them. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - With young children fast asleep in their bedroom, surveillance video shows a burglar on the prowl at a home in South Park. Just off 32nd Street, Billy McCowan woke up to a disturbing sight on Wednesday morning."Came over and saw the side door open to the garage," said McCowan.RELATED: La Mesa woman wakes up to burglar in her bedroomA look at the surveillance video revealed who had been on his property. Starting at about 8 p.m., a pickup truck pulls up and parks across from his home. At about 5 a.m., a man wrapped in a blanket emerges from the truck and walks through his front gate.McCowan believes the burglar walked through the unlocked door to a detached garage - a converted office - and grabbed an iPhone. Video shows the man roaming the property. Next up was a detached hot tub room."We had a small TV in here," said McCowan.In the video, the burglar is seen carrying that TV. Meanwhile, inside the home were McCowan's wife, and two children, ages 3 and 5. They were all asleep.Forty-five minutes after the man first arrives, the intruder is seen peering into the children's bedroom. By this time, McCowan has woken up and he's making coffee in the kitchen. The man appears to see him and ducks down, before quietly getting into his truck and driving off. It was a fortunate twist. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A group of ten college girls rode their bikes from Seattle to San Diego to fight sex trafficking. The group is comprised of women from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Alabama.Beginning in Seattle and ending in San Diego, these first-time riders biked down the West Coast, meeting with communities and local leaders along the way to spark conversations and raise money for the long-term, rehabilitative care for children rescued from sex traffickers.This is the third year for Pedal the Pacific and this year they nearly doubled their financial goal. They ended up raising over 250 thousand dollars. The organization tells 10News, "The team just received a 0,000 donation from the Harry W. Bass Jr Foundation. The foundation says they were appalled by Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged crimes, but they found a positive way to make a difference with their donation to Pedal the Pacific."All of the money raised will be donated to The Refuge Ranch, the largest long-term, live-in rehabilitation facility for child survivors of sex trafficking in the US. 1071
