Special counsel Robert Mueller's confidential report on the Russia investigation is more than 300 pages, according to a Justice Department official and a second source with knowledge of the matter. The Justice Department official described the still-secret report as more than 300 pages, while a second official said it was between 300 and 400 pages, not including exhibits. The page length had been a mystery in the days following the announcement that Mueller had concluded his work last Friday, as the Justice Department continually declined to comment on the page count but called it "comprehensive." Attorney General Bill Barr's four-page summary of Mueller's report provided only few details of how it is structured, describing it as "divided into two parts."Even many members of Congress have been kept in the dark about the breadth of the report until recently.A Justice official confirmed that Barr discussed the page length on a call with House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler on Wednesday. Nadler would only say the report was "very substantial" and less than 1,000 pages when asked by reporters.Barr on Sunday released a four-page memo stating that Mueller's investigation did not establish that the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government before the election, but Democrats have demanded to see Mueller's full report and the underlying evidence.A small team at the Justice Department is working on determining what portions of the report can be made public, after scrubbing it for grand jury and other material related to ongoing investigations. 1586
Professor Chikaodinaka Nwankpa of Drexel University was arrested on Monday, accused of stealing 5,000 in research grant funds, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced. Nwankpa is accused of using the money for strip clubs, sports bars, meals, and iTunes purchases.Nwankpa was charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.“Mr. Nwankpa inappropriately and criminally diverted tens of thousands of dollars that were allocated for research purposes toward his own private enjoyment. He betrayed Drexel University and tuition-paying students he was paid to educate,” District Attorney Krasner said. “After a comprehensive investigation by our office’s Economic Crimes Unit, Mr. Nwankpa will have his day in court and will have to answer for his crimes. The District Attorney's Office accused Nwankpa of spending more than ,000 in purchases at adult entertainment venues and sports bars, and more than ,000 on purchases toward iTunes, meals, and other unauthorized purchases."Nwankpa attempted to hide adult entertainment expenses by claiming that the items were for catering and food, despite the fact that 48% of the 114 separate charges he made were done on weekends, and 63% were processed between the hours of midnight and 2:00 a.m.," the District Attorney's Office said in a statement. Nwankpa made the allegedly deceitful purchases from 2010 to 2017. 1403

Robert Mueller is done. After a 22-month investigation, charges against 37 defendants, seven guilty pleas and one conviction at trial, the Justice Department announced Friday that the special counsel's office has wrapped up its probe into Russian election interference, possible Trump campaign collusion with Moscow and obstruction of justice. There will be no further indictments from the special counsel, a senior Justice Department official said. The Justice Department informed Congress in a brief letter that Mueller has submitted a confidential report to Attorney General William Barr detailing the decisions his team made to prosecute or not prosecute those who were investigated.Barr said he may provide Congress with "the special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend."A Justice Department official described the report as "comprehensive" and said those principal conclusions are "expected to be made public."White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the White House has not seen Mueller's findings."The next steps are up to Attorney General Barr, and we look forward to the process taking its course. The White House has not received or been briefed on the Special Counsel's report," 1226
Starbucks, the home of the latte, is expanding a program to open coffee shops in poor neighborhoods. The Seattle-based company plans to open or remodel 85 stores by 2025 in rural and urban communities across the U.S. Each store will have event space, and Starbucks will work with local United Way chapters to offer programs like youth job training. Starbucks has opened 15 community stores since it announced the project 2015, including ones in Ferguson, Missouri, and New Orleans. The company says the stores are profitable and feature the same menu and similar prices as regular Starbucks. 606
