SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two men were stabbed and an officer was headbutted after a fight erupted between two groups outside a Gaslamp District nightclub.Two large groups of men were ejected from Phantom nightclub on Fifth Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. and got into a street fight outside, San Diego Police said. During the altercation, two men were stabbed.One of the victims, a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to a nearby hospital. The other victim, a 24-year-old, received lacerations to his stomach, arms, and hands. Police say he was uncooperative and refused medical attention. Minutes later, he was contacted at 1200 3rd Avenue and fought with the responding officers, SDPD said.During the altercation, the man headbutted an officer and attempted to gouge out the eyes of another officer, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two more people have died from the flu in San Diego County, bringing this season’s total to 11, according to County News Center. According to health officials, a 74-year-old man who was vaccinated died from complications from influenza B on December 31. A 64-year-old man also died from complications due to influenza A on January 3. The 64-year-old man hadn’t received his vaccination, according to the county. Overall, flu activity was down last week compared to previous weeks. Last year at this time, 91 people had died from the flu. Flu cases last week fell to 257 from 369 the previous week. Overall, just over 2,000 cases of the flu have been reported so far this season, which fell dramatically from more than 10,300 by this time last year. “It’s not too late in the season to get your flu shot,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer. “Flu activity can last until April or May and the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others around you from influenza.”The CDC recommends that everyone 6-months-old and older get a flu shot every year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station are looking for a woman, possibly pregnant, accused of using counterfeit bills at several businesses in North County.According to investigators, on April 14, 2018, a woman used a counterfeit 0 bill at Yogurt 101 located at 152 N. Highway 101 in Solana Beach.Investigators said on April 19, 2018, the same female suspect used another counterfeit 0 bill at Sun Splash located at 2673 Via De La Valle in Del Mar. They also said the woman is believed to have used a counterfeit 0 bill at a business in Carlsbad.The suspect is described as a 25 to 35-year-old Hispanic woman who stands between 5’4” and 5’6” tall. She has long, dark wavy hair and a tattoo on the right side of her upper chest. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - While San Diego County teeters on the edge of a fall from the state's red to purple tier, local school districts are left scrambling to sort out conflicting directions."It's extremely frustrating. I want to bring kids back on campus more than anyone," said La Mesa-Spring Valley School District Superintendent David Feliciano during an interview with ABC10 News on Friday.
