(KGTV) - Deputies were called to an East County school over rumors of a possible school shooting.San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded Thursday just after 2:30 p.m. to Spring Valley Academy after a school employee called over concerns of a shooting rumor. SDSO confirmed deputies were on campus speaking with the employee.SDSO did not say whether the threat was made to Spring Valley Academy or how it was brought to the employee's attention.10News is monitoring this breaking news story.Correction: An earlier version of this story updated to say the threat was a hoax. Seven years ago, a Pasco County, Florida family was torn apart when an out of control driver ran down a group of girls, killing a 5-year-old triplet.Now that family is being tormented all over again.In the years since Delaney Rossman was killed, her surviving sisters have still managed to thrive.“The girls are really good. They are 13 now; very active in the community, doing everything they can to be normal kids,” mother Danielle Malm said.Malm said right after the crash, many well meaning people reached out offering support.“It was wonderful. The condolences, and we appreciated everything that everybody had to say.But one of them has crossed the line.“She’s threatened the girls," Malm said. "She’s threatened us with death. She’s threatened my nieces.”Under different Facebook profiles the person has sent disturbing messages to Danielle and her family.One says “Delaney is DEAD. Hahahah.”Another says “I’m going to harm your family.”Other messages are just too vulgar to show.“The main thing is she’s been fixated on the fact that Delaney died and Gabrielle lived.”Danielle says the person even contacted the girl’s school trying to get more personal information. Blocking the harasser isn’t helping, because the person creates fake profiles posing as family.They send friend requests to everyone on Malm’s list.The family believes the person lives out of the country, but isn’t sure. “It gnaws at you. Where is this woman at? Why is she fixated on us today? Why won’t she just let it go?” she said.Facebook says to report anyone whose behavior is abusive and change privacy settings.Law enforcement can subpoena Facebook to try and track down someone making threats, but they admit, if the person is out of the country, there’s not much they can do. 1794

The state of New York just gave the OK for companies to produce frozen treats that are strictly for the 21 and over crowd.Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill allowing the manufacture and sale of ice cream and other frozen desserts made with liquor in the state. The new legislation is designed to give dairy farmers, liquor and craft beverage producers cross the state a new market to explore."It might be nice for the adults, if they want to have a little bit of alcohol and kind of indulge while the kids are getting ice cream or candy or playing around in the fun atmosphere," said Adriana King, Assistant Manager of King Condrell's Candy and Ice Cream in Kenmore. 723

Snapchat says its mapping technology was "vandalized," early Thursday morning as users noted that New York City had been replaced with an anti-Semitic slur.On Thursday morning, social media users began reporting that Snapchat's map function displayed New York City as "Jewtropolis." Screenshots from other apps like CitiBike and StreetEasy were also displaying the slur in the place of New York City.According to Snapchat, the app's "Snap Map" feature relies on third-party mapping technology built by Mapbox. Snapchat says it's "working" to get the issue fixed immediately."Snap Maps" allows Snapchat users to see where their friends are in the world via GPS services. LOUIS -- The U.S. Coast Guard has referred the investigation into last month’s deadly sinking of a Missouri tourist boat to federal prosecutors.The accident occurred July 19 at Table Rock Lake near Branson, Missouri. An amphibious duck boat sank amid strong winds, killing 16 passengers and a crew member. Fourteen people survived.Nine of those victims were from on Indianapolis family. Tia Coleman and her nephew, Donovan were the only two members of their family to survive. The legal team for the Coleman family says it “supports the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation referral to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Western Missouri for criminal investigation." Adding, "All those who continue to grieve  support holding fully accountable those responsible for making the deadly decisions that resulted in the catastrophe.”Several investigations are still underway from the National Transportation Safety Board, the Coast Guard and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.The duck boat attraction owner, Ripley Entertainment, says it is cooperating with the investigations. 1115
